I live in a co-op called Turtle House, with 17 other people, so you'd have plenty of opportunities to befriend others here. Many are friends with the housemates here already, and we are additionally very LGBTQ+ friendly. Located in central Davis, Turtle House is a 1 minute walk to campus and another 2 minute walk to downtown. 5 Minutes away is Central Park, where there's a Farmer's Market and an Art/Clothing Market every Saturday morning! Turtle House is a nice and fun community, with the added bonus of a co-op living experience! If you love to have communal dinners, gardening, throwing events and hanging out with your housemates, then Turtle House is the right place for you! We have a huge yard with a beautiful porch, a gazebo, and an upper balcony! We also have a pretty cool basement to chill out in. Utilities are included, with good Wi-Fi, laundry included, a bike shed, in unit kitchens and private bathrooms (some even include bidets!) We currently have 11 other girls here (not including myself), 3 guys, and 2 additional people who use they/them pronouns. We usually go to the Night Market together, play games like Catan, and watch movies in the basement. The unit I'm living in includes a female roommate, another female in a single, and one male in a single. I'm living in a double that I'm trying to get a long term sublease for, from either late June or early July to September 2024. I pay my monthly rent anywhere between $570-$630 for my spot in a double. The range is based on utility usage, which is included. The rest of my contract would be up until September 2024, which you have an option to renew if you wish.
