Considering most apartments in Provo are crap, Heritage is decent. The rent it reidiculous, though. BYU likes to prey on innocent Freshmen (or rather their parents) funds, so beware it'll cost a lot and they force you to get a meal plan. The management was good, better than other places I've lived since. The social life is just horrible, I felt like I was at EFY all year. But that's just freshmen housing, I suppose. Parking is crappy, kitchen is small. Great proximity to campus. I rented from fall '07 through winter '08. ...

Do NOT live here. It so so dated and worn, it is quite a disgusting environment. The kitchen is so dirty and whoever did the last cleaning check before I moved in obviously was not strict at all. There was garbage in my closet when I moved in and some unknown red substance on our hallway wall. The cinderblocks are overwhelmingly depressing and the shared rooms made me want to go insane. No privacy at all, and one bathroom for 6 people is crammed and chaotic. If you care at all about the quality of your environment and standard of living, Heritage is not a good choice. The only plus is the close proximity to campus. I have found that most people in Heritage do not care about getting any amount of sleep. It is an extremely social place, but the activities are usually ridiculous and everyone thinks it is a good idea to stay up as late as possible since they aren't living at home anymore. It is very hard to get sleep when you can hear everything going on outside the doors and in the next apartment. And the whole making cookies for the boys to make them like you thing is very overdone. If you enjoy obnoxious, giggly freshman coeds who just want to meet boys and pull stupid, immature pranks- sure, move on in. But if you would rather have some level of maturity and a ward that isn't entirely made up of 18 year olds that aren't ready to grow up, I wouldn't suggest it. Luckily I got out while I could and will never recommend this place to anyone. I'm sure there are some nice, normal people that live here... and I hope they will survive until their contract ends. I rented from fall '08 through fall '08. ...

Definitely for Freshman since they don't have an upperclassman ward anymore. I really liked it though. I also did a freshman academy and loved it. If you are an incoming freshman choose Heritage. It can be a immature sometimes (especially after it snows), but after you read the police beat and find out that someone in Helaman blew up a toilet or something you'll start looking a little more mature. Great place in my opinion. I rented from fall '07 through winter '08. ...

Heritage was a great place to live. You had your own kitchen and good sized room, and (depending on the room) your own closet. If you called in for repairs, they would get done in a few days. The Creamery on Ninth is insanely close, and there is a volleyball pit. Tons of activities, but ALL freshman. There used to be an upperclassman ward, but since they destroyed DT, it disappeared. Parking was usually a beast, but it is better than a lot of off-campus parking. Not many places these days have enough spots for the number of people living in their complex. I rented from fall '06 through winter '08. ...

It's nice to have a kitchen, but don't be fooled when it claims there's a 'living room'. Basically they mean they plopped an old couch down in the kitchen. All the same, it's a fun socializing room. The cement block walls with layers of old paint are ugly as heck so bring lots of pictures and posters and things to cover it up as best you can :P The location is extremely nice!! The ward was not so much fun because there's about three girls to every guy. Ditzy, stupid, desperate freshman girls throwing themselves at the sparse population of the male species. Girls like that drive me insane. So I went off campus for the social stuff. :P It was nice to have the creamery so close by, though. I rented from summer '07 through winter '08. ...

I had a blast in Heritage Halls as a freshman. Everyone was so tight-knit and were always looking out for each other. We had an amazing RA who was basically payed by BYU to help us with any problems and to adjust to campus life. Everything she did was in our best interest. I also participated in a freshman academy and was able to live with people who were in most of my classes, which helped out a lot when it came to homework. I would recommend Heritage to any incoming freshman. It was an amazing experience and I loved it. I rented from fall '07 through winter '08. ...

Heritage is a great place to start at BYU. You pretty much cannot get closer to campus. (Soooo convenient) Parking can be very difficult, and often people are illegally parked making it hard to get in a out of the lots. There are lots of activities always going on and people are usually very inclusive. The downside? The entirety of Heritage Halls starting Fall 2007 is comprised of Freshman. If you want immature starter singles' wards, go here. Else wise, I'd just take a trip to the south side of campus and look at apartments there. I rented from fall '06 through winter '07. ...

There are upper-classmen wards for those who aren't freshmen, I was in one of those and most people were sophomores or juniors, some seniors and a few freshmen. But since BYU started giving out parking passes free, more people brought cars and parking got worse. Having the school for a landlord is a plus, though, because you won't be cheated out of money over hidden costs and school maintenance responds to calls. Heritage is a good place to start off if you want to be on campus. You have multiple roommates and can cook your own food and have visitors over. They're really strict about honor code stuff there though. Sometimes it's also hard to find good parking. And people tend to be really immature, but there's always social activities going on. Heritage Halls is a generally considered a quality pad for freshmen because they know they're going to be surrounded with a bunch of other freshmen that are new to the college scene. It's right next campus, so no driving to school. If you like loud cackily 18-year-old girls that won't sleep 'till they make you cookies or invite you to FHE, this is the place. On the other hand, if you're looking for a place to chill and choose an optional social life, stay away. I rented from summer '01 through spring '02. ...
