It was a pretty average apartment complex. Nice apartments, rooms were a bit small but liveable. Definitely a great place for fresh/soph girls and newly returned missionaries. Management was difficult to work with at times. Parking was an issue. The ward I was in was friendly and welcoming although they didn't do much together outside of church and FHE. Overall, an alright place to live. I rented from winter '07 through winter '07. ...

My son lived at Liberty Square for one year. Social life was so-so, the girls don't go out of their way to visit the guys. The management is belligerent and doesn't really care as long as they get their money. They love to nickel and dime residents with unnecessary "fees." Location is good, parking is tight. Management insists on having checkouts during finals; they have no flexibility with this rule. Avoid it like stomach flu!!! I rented from fall '07 through summer '08. ...

Always take everything out of your car. My car was broken into my 1st night there and that was way before the 11 car theft night. Great place if your a 18 or 19 year old girl or a fresh off the mish guy, otherwise you might feel a bit out of place. Its very zoobie oriented, meaning that if you think BYU is heaven on earth than you'll love it. I had a good time, but not sure if I would choose it if I had to do it all over again. A lot of "molly morman" types. Great location and I was pleased with parking. People are very nice. I rented from fall '07 through winter '08. ...

I just wanted to let people know about the problem of theft in the underground parking. At one point 11 cars were broken into (including mine) in one night. All together my car has been broken into twice and then stolen. Management will not do anything about it because they are not liable. ...

Definitely a place for Sophomores. I didn't know that when I signed the contract, and I felt very out of place as a senior. If I were the right age, though, it would have been a total blast! Great social atmosphere. The management offers lots of social activities with free food. Location is awesome--only took me 12 minutes to walk to class, and I'm a slow walker. Many of the apartments are newly rennovated, but there are still grody ones. You have to make sure you ask for a newer one, if that's what you want, but it's $50 more a month (that's what I did). Plenty of storage area for all your stuff. The bedrooms are all different sizes for some reason, so make sure you snag the big one. Liberty Square does charge more than the surrounding apartments, so look around if you're on a budget. Don't bring a new car; it WILL get scratched--the parking spaces are tiny! You definitely need a parking space, though, because there is never enough parking on the street. Get underground if you plan to drive at all during the winter. Scraping snow off your windsheild when you're late for work is a nightmare. They only offer wireless internet, and it gets pretty crowded with all the tenants using it. The management is nice and prompt. They memorize your name and your apartment number, so they always know who you are when you need anything. I recommend this apartment for freshmen, sophomores, or anyone who's looking to date them ;-) I rented from summer '07 through spring '08. ...

The management is terrible. Dishonest on many occasions. They like to point blame everywhere else but themselves. The facilities close early and the hot tub was closed 35% of the time anyway due to "maintenance." The landlord was mean and didn't go out of her way to help resolve anything. The integrity of the management was always in question. example...1) they ran out of underground parking permits. this was an insult because there were always 40 spots never used at night. For whatever reason they didn't want to provide more student with covered parking as they could have. 2)internet is the biggest joke. Slow and they don't allow getting anything else other than there slow. interruptible, expensive Wi-Fi.Hope you aren't doing an online test when the internet stops working for whatever reason. But don't worry...it isn't Liberty's fault....(right). avoid this place like the plague. Why live some place where you can't trust your landlord.?? I rented from fall '07 through winter '08. ...

great location no question. If you want a parking pass get there early cause they go fast and trust me you want one! parking on the street is horrible. I lived in a six man apartment with only 2 bedrooms and one shower which caused some problems. Honestly they say the apartments are newly renovated but they still are way old and not that nice. Social life pretty much depends on your ward, it can be good or bad. Dont count on the management to help you with any problems. Basketball and hot tub are ghetto. If its not your sophomore year, I wouldn't recommend living here. I rented from fall '07 through winter '08. ...

I loved this place! I lived here for a year and had a great time. It is a little younger and definitely time to move on but it was a good place to be. Most of the guys are first year off the mission and most of the girls room in groups coming out of Heritage Halls. Very social if that is what you are looking for and are between 19 and 22 years old. Managdment does their best, sometimes they do some dumb things but they didn't get on my nerves too much. ...

I thought our 4 man apartment was very nice and spacious. But the 6 man ones are crammed. The maintenence was kind of hit and miss sometimes they did great work other times it was awful. It is not a far walk to campus. I had an undergound parking pass ($40/year) and it worked great. I haven't been hit yet. It is a place for sophomores. Fun. As social as YOU want to make it. Rent was 309 plus a flat $20 utilities, and $9 for crummy wireless internet. I rented from fall '07 through winter '08. ...

My daughter loved Liberty square. She met her husband there during the summer and always had such fun stories to tell me about when she called. I was in frequent communication with management and found them to be quite understanding and workable, especially when it comes to their residents. My younger son will be applying this February because my daughter loved it so much! ...

I lived here during my sophomore year, but am planning to go back after living at King Henry (I would NOT recommend King Henry, by the way). I didn't know how good I had it at Liberty Square until I left. The management is accommodating, the wards are great, the girls are cute, and it's just an overall fun atmosphere. I rented from fall '06 through winter '07. ...

I would definitely recommend Liberty Square to anyone. Of course, everyone seems to have their own opinion based on their upbringings (the snotty kids seem to feel they deserve "better," but that's any place you go), but my roommates and I have been happy about our decision to live at liberty square. The wards are great, the social life is never-ending, and the management is very nice and understanding. Overall, a great place to live. I rented from spring '07 through winter '08. ...

I don't think they care about anybody but themselves. Always tryin' to make an extra dollar. The Apt we're in is small, pricy, and crappy. Nowhere near enough room for six. The location is hard to beat........I'll give ya that. However, the so called great social life is practically absent. No parties and the facilities close at early hours and require sign in notice making it very inconvenient to have any fun. Oh and by the way....Parking is ridiculous!!! Spots are big enough to fit your cars and your side-view mirrors. Plan on getting hit at least twice per semester. Oh and even though they say they have it, they may not. (Like our dishwasher.) Other than that it's an ok place. ...

the only problems i really had with this was 1) the management (since then i think its been changed) 2) the apartments really aren't that nice (again, i think they've been renovated) 3) i felt like there was a fee for everything, i remember with the utilities bill and rent, and then all the other fees it started to add up 4) i couldn't stand not having a washer and dryer in my apt. otherwise its a really cool place with alot of cool people, the ward was good. most of the people were sophomores. i would prob. live there again if i was just moving out of the dorms and had cool roomates to move in with.. considering the other choices in provo, i'd say its a nice place to live ...

I would definitely recommend living here. It's very social and there's always something to do! The people are nice, the management is great(free candy bars in the office--a hidden amenity)and the apartments are the nicest i've seen of BYU approved housing. I only liked it because I lived in a six-man apartment that had just two people living in it. Life at Liberty Square is somewhere in between living in the dorms and living in the real world. Thus, in my experience, most of the people who live there are young and somewhat insecure about how many friends they have and how many dates they go on, etc., but at least they cook for themselves now. It's easy to make a lot of shallow friendships and form a very long list of people you say hi to on campus, but if you're looking for more than that, don't live there. It has a reputation for being a social place, so they charge a lot more than they should because people think they can buy a few extra friends or a future spouse or something, but I don't recommend it if you have moved on from being a freshman. ...
