We are postdocs at U Chicago and are renting a spacious one bedroom apartment in Hyde Park, but we haven't moved in yet due to COVID-19. The apartment is nearly fully furnished from our friend who was the previous tenant. We are looking for a responsible subletter to move in as early as February 1st. Move in/out date are flexible, the apartment is currently available from Feb. 1 to June 15 (possibly longer)! Great location: 2 blocks from the lake, less than 1/2 mile from U Chicago's campus. Top floor (4th floor) of the building. Additional information: Given we have not moved in yet, there is no Wifi set up. Subletters are welcome to set it up if they'd like. There is laundry in the building on the ground floor and street parking as well. The previous tenants say that street parking is very easy. There are two in-window air conditioners, and heating is via radiators. Subletters will need to bring their own bedding and towels. Rent is $800 per month with a $800 refundable security deposit (pending no damages done to the property). Utilities are not included in that amount, but we are told they run approximately $50 per month (depending on use, of course). Please email with any questions or to get additional information!
