Awful.Don't ever move there. You pay an extra $10 a month to live by the pool and hot tub...unfortunately the pool was green most of the summer and the hot tub bleaches your swimsuits. No dishwasher. Four people to an apartment is way too cramped. Furniture creates back problems. Management lies and uses legal loopholes to rip you off. Only positive note: I've never taken a cold shower there. I rented from spring '07 through winter '08. ...

Awful awful awful. Nasty, gross apartments and no dishwasher and very limited space. The parking was awful, most of it was parallel parking and no one would park correctly. The social life was nonexistent and my ward was full of weirdos and creepos. Sold my contract after one month of living there because I hated it so badly. I rented from fall '07 through fall '07. ...

The location is good, but the management is lousy. Lots of horror stories here with everything from the failed health inspection in the hot tub to the flooded neighborhood apartments. I really cared more about the location, but it came back to bite me when I ended up having to pay for summer rent because of their ridiculous contract- you have to give them a written notice of any termination 90 days prior to the beginning of the contract. Frankly, I think that's quite dishonest and will never return. I rented from fall '07 through summer '08. ...

my friend's parents signed us up while on the mission. its a dump and the ladies in charge are horribly mean. the place is falling apart. kind of cheap so if you dont mind a dump go for it. only + are the hot tubs and the lounge room I rented from fall '07 through spring '08. ...

The price is the only reason I'm here. Stuff breaks fairly regularly, and their computer system seems to have issues. We also get dinged for some little thing every cleaning check but our friends' apartment passes with flying colors (I actually took pictures to prove theirs was dirty). The layout of the rooms is actually pretty good. My first day I was welcomed by a large puddle in the bathroom formed over Christmas break by a leaky toilet upstairs. No management was around so I had to clean it up myself. Nice first day huh? The windows and door were extremely drafty. Management promised new weatherstripping but didn't actually install it until AFTER the weather got warmer, so our gas heater bill was extremely high. They evicted my roommate for not paying his rent, but he also did drugs, smoked, and drank. Management never came to verify that he left so the new guy had a surprise that the old guy wasn't out yet and wasn't out until after we had to tell the office ourselves. The washers didn't go through the spin cycle at times so I had to wring out all my clothes from a flooded machine. The pool turned green from a lack of chlorine just when it got warm enough to swim, so we couldn't. The hot tub was closed by the health department for a long time. It looks like it's close to campus, but remember that you have to cross University Ave and wait forever for the crosswalk, go through all the athletic buildings, then up the RB stairs. It's a great location for athletic classes, but not so much for academic classes. I can't honestly reccommend it to anyone and still feel good about myself unless they know what they're in for. I'm moving to a house this next semester that is super close to campus and cheap. It's a dump, but at least I know what I'm getting myself into this time, so it's my choice, not the unpleasant surprises of the Villa. I rented from winter '07 through winter '07. ...

No dishwasher and kitchen is wicked small. The a/c works great, but you live in a cinder-block paradise! I rented from spring '01 through spring '01.

When you are looking for a place to live, do you really care if there's a hangout room with a pool table there? Seriously, the Villa was way overpriced for what it delivered. The apartments are ugly and uncomfortable. I would not recommend the Villa to anyone. Any of its good qualities (social atmosphere, decent location) can easily be found elsewhere for the same price but without the crappy apartments. I rented from fall '04 through winter '05. ...

I had a great time at University Villa--a testament to the good social atmosphere. The apartment itself was pretty old and a bit run down, although they renovated the bathrooms summer '05. New management bought the place during summer 2005, and they were pretty bad. They lied about some things, billed us for things that weren't in our contracts, and reduced office hours so that they were never open when I needed to talk to them. I hear that things have improved somewhat since I moved out. A blog (not mine) that details UV's new management is here: http://jacob.peargrove.com/blog/category/byu/university-villa/ I rented from winter '05 through winter '06. ...

The office is never open, so if you have a life and actually have to do things in the day like work and school, expect to pay a late fee every month. The apartments are always cold because of the giant windows that let all the heat out. Also it took them a week to fix my heater and then didn't clean up the mess they created for another week. The place is VERY OLD! I would not recommend anyone to live here. To be fair it is close to campus and has an ok social life, but both can be found other places. University Villa has a decent social atmostphere, a pool table, a hangout room with a projector and some other amenities. The acccomodations are fair--pretty typical cinder-block fare. Management pretty anal about cleaning inspections and late fees. It's close to campus but not super-close. Parking can be difficult to find during Fall-Winter. Overall, it's right in the middle, not too good, but not horrible either. A little pricey for what you get. I rented from spring '03 through spring '04. ...
