5/31/2024 I have had a horrible experience while staying at Redpoint; there have been many problems moving in from the day of move-in. Management is one of the worst management that you can deal with. They told me as a student, I did not have any. rights here, and that they could want. To include invade your privacy. I was in the shower, and employees, per our lease, said the apartment complex has to give you notice before they enter the apartment. walked in to do an "inspection." Also, the gates do not work here so there is no security or guards that drive around. There have been many break-ins, and there was a shooting at the apartment. I would definitely do your research about places around Tuscaloosa before moving in. ...

I was shocked on move in day to the apartment on yesterday. It was completely nasty! Paint was splattered on the floors and cabinets and ROACHES were running around in the kitchen. The keys to the rooms did not work and the entire house was nasty! Trash was on the back deck and trash was in the front of the porch! Everything we saw in the model compared to what you walk into was a complete misrepresentation of the truth. I felt like I moved into section 8 housings. The wash and dryer was old and rusted and refrigerator and stove aaa nasty. We had to buy $100 of cleaning supplies and clean the entire unit before we unpacked anything. We spent 6 hours cleaning and it was five people cleaning and killing ROACHES! I should have called the News and blasted this place. No one should pay their hard earned money and move into a ROACH INFESTED HOUSE. This was the worst experience I have ever had in my life. I will be moving when the lease is up and I will warn everyone to stay away. ...

Lived here fall 2014-Fall 2014 Overall: do not live here. There are some perks, but you can find the same perks at other college apartments in Tuscaloosa. They put on a lot of free food events, which is always a plus, but you can still attend them even if you don't live here. Crime is the worst here, and management (Jennifer is the head) and corporate does nothing about it. I, and many of my friends, have had our cars broken into. Also, the local police also say to stay away from the woodlands because of the crime. They said that cars are broken into almost every night. The Woodlands had enough money to put gates or cameras, they just refuse to. Staff also can be very rude, which they are staffed by college students, so they don't care about you whatsoever. We have also had a utility overage every month, and 2 out of 4 of the people do not even stay with us anymore. So overall, you can find a much better deal than the Woodlands, and still attend their free events, so look elsewhere! I rented from fall 11 through fall 11. ...

2012-2013 school year. Overall awful. Anytime we had a complaint or put in a maintenance order it got ignored and never was fixed. I had to personally go to the clubhouse to get anything done. You would think with how much money they make people pay for rent they would try and make this place better- like GATES so there isn't all these drug deals and robberies happening and getting actual security. This place is a joke and does not deserve any one else's money. LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE I rented from fall 10 through spring 11. ...

DO NOT LIVE HERE!!! Management is awful and all they do is lie to you in order to get more money, also they are very rude and unprofessional. How can you run a business but treat the current tenants ( who are paying for your paycheck and the ability to have a job) like crap!!! Like really?! They need to fire the whole management staff and hire new people. I'm telling you don't live here you will regret it!!! I rented from winter 11 through winter 11. ...

Horrible place. They are nice to you until you decide to move out. Upon moving out I got fined for every scratch in the whole place. They lost my keys and blamed me. Our roommate left trash bags since she was still living there and they charged me over 100.00 to take out her trash. This place is a joke. I rented from fall 10 through fall 11. ...

I rented from the Woodlands of Tuscaloosa from Fall 2011 to Spring 2012 and it was an awful experience. From the first day we moved in, there were problems. We did not have reliable internet for the first two months we were here, and throughout the year, the problem didn't get much better. We had utility overages every single month we lived here, even when we only had three of the four roommates residing here. The management would often enter our apartment with little to no notice to us. And not only that, but when we confronted management about our many problems, they responded in a condescending and rude manner and nothing ever changed. Aside from the management, the other residents were a problem as well. There were a lot of dogs in my building and the smell outside was horrendous. None of the residents would clean up after their dogs. Also, our neighbors were exceedingly loud and raucous at all hours of the night and management did nothing to reprimand the situation. The Woodlands carries a huge price tag for the appearance of a nice place to live, but in truth, the entire complex is cheap and was thrown together to far too short of a time to ensure any quality living space. I would not recommend this terrible place to anyone. I rented from fall 10 through spring 11. ...

I lived at the Woodlands for two years and loved every minute of it. If I had not just graduated and moved back home, I would stay there another year. I moved to the Woodlands from the dorms without furniture, so the apartment already having furniture was a plus for me. I felt safe there. We had an alarm in our unit that we set up in the beginning, but honestly we never used it. In the past I had problems with my neighbors, but there, everyone was so nice and courteous. I actually made really good friends with my neighbors and many other people that lived at the Woodlands. We cooked out with each other and watched the games together all the time. I will always remember the memories I made at the Woodlands. They were some of my best times I had as an undergrad at UA. It really felt like my home away from home instead of just another place to sleep. Loved the experience and would recommend this place to everyone i know. I rented from fall 10 through spring 11. ...

I HATE THIS PLACE! I cannot wait to move and I have lived here for two years and I regret it so much. the management SUCKS and if it has nothing to do with money, they are totally disinterested. If you do not yet live here, they treat you like royalty. If you are a current resident, you are treated by management as if it is going out of their way to help you. I am over the dog crap everywhere, meaning if you live near a green area you do not want to even open your window because of the smell. If the management here would learn the Woodlands' rules that are advertised and enforce them this place would be so much better. I rented from fall 10 through spring 11. ...

Worst place i could possibly have lived at. Are A/C has been out for two weeks now and they havent come to fix it. I put in multiple work orders for it. The speed bumps throughout the place are over the top. We get fined for everything. Monthly overages are around 40 dollars a person. Left a trash bag on our front porch for a night and got fined $25. They come by nighly to fine but cant fix anything. About 50% of the lights in the place went out and they are hassling me for them. This place is an extreme pain. Way more negatives then positives. The Woodlands was a good experience for me. I lived there with 2 other buddies I'd met living in the dorms.I guess I didn't realize how good I had it living there.I rarely had any problems, but the few times I did...the staff handled it quickly for me(garbage disposal messed up but..it was prob. our fault honestly.) The apartment I live in now doesn't seem to care whether or not something is broken, takes forever to fix. etc.The Woodlands cost more than my current place, but...it was worth it for the service you got. The only thing I didn't like was that we got a trash fine but...I mean I get it. If they didn't enforce trash rules, the place would be a mess and it's really nice property wide. Overall, I would recommend living here. Honestly, I think I'm moving back in the fall. I rented from fall 10 through spring 11. ...

I really like living at The Woodlands! The price may not be considered super inexpensive, but I feel you get what you pay for. They have really nice amenities. I'm a big workout buff and enjoy using this gym a lot. Plus...it's really clean! The complex in general is just nice. I transferred here from Michigan(didn't know a single soul) and didn't have "set" roommates to live with. The Woodlands matched me mid-year last year into a sublease. I was nervous about this at first but I LOVE my roommates. You really can't put a price on being happy where you live and I'm thankful that they took the time to put me with these awesome roommates that are now considered my best friends. I'll probably live here until I graduate! I rented from fall 10 through summer 11. ...

On the first week I moved into the woodlands, a tenant upstairs tried to mount their t.v on the wall and ended up hitting the water line, which made their apartment AND our roof flood out. Now having stayed here for almost a year and a half, they have YET to repair the water spots on our ceiling. Since we've been here we have had a number of MAINTENANCE ISSUES: water hose on kitchen sink broke, loose faucets (in general), all of the kitchen drawer handles are broken because they used the wrong screws, one of my bureaus in my chest of drawers the screws have fallen off so now it leans when opened, the computer chair VERY EASILY can pick up scratch marks (which is why i bought a seta cushion), water pressure in my bathroom sink was messed up at first, the paint on the wall is VERY SHEER so if you wiped it with something like water or alcohol (or even denim) it changes the wall color, and finally, my roommate's closet support collapsed and made an actual hole in the wall due to trying to "quick build". So basically the quality of the apartment is HORRIBLE and CHEAPLY MADE. It is very obvious they were concentrating more on finishing the construction of the apartments, rather than checking for the quality of it. Another issue is the overages. I can guarantee you no matter how much you try to save energy you will have an overage and that's basically because this leasing management wants your money for themselves. They put more of the payment into the rent than into the "all inclusive" part. Only $40 is allowed to cover your utilities, which we all know barely covers anything. However, there is one good thing about the woodlands: convienience. The apartment is located convieniently to the shopping areas and to the campus so you never have to drive too far for anything. The sole reason this complex exists is to make money. They have NO concept of the words "customer service." Great advertising and appeal are the only reason they have any tenants for this next year. However, the complex won't last long. Rent is outrageous, hidden fees and miscommunication are more than common, and every person you talk to treats you like they're doing you a favor for talking to you. NEVER RENT FROM WOODLANDS. The only thing this company is concerned about is making money. The leasing office does nothing to help when you ask for help. We asked to be on the sub lease list and they "forgot". How can they continue to collect rent when they have new tenants in the apartment. Doesn't seem legal. I rented from fall 10 through winter 11. ...

HORRIBLE COMPLEX. dont let the awesome advertising and false promises fool you. this place is totally a scam. they tried to tell us that for our 4 bedroom flat we owed $400 extra on a utility bill. poorly built. you can hear people drunk screaming and trucks outside your windows. you can hear every word your roommates say or anything they do in the apartment. things that have broken already: AC twice, front door lock, microwave, dishwasher and disposal. cheaply made. the noise level is ridiculous! dog poop all over your front yard and your neighbors above drop cigarettes and beer cans all over your back yard. the people who work there have no information what so ever for you. the landlord is a total jerk and will say anything to you for you to leave him alone. false "all inclusive" advertisements on rent. horrible appliances. do not even waste your time here... you might as well live out in the parking lot cause the walls dont stand a chance at blocking all the noise. the pool is tiny and there have never been enough chairs. the gym is tiny and has no mats or anything... youll definitely get hit while attempting to maneuver your way around the poorly designed complex. i moved out after just a few months. good luck trying to get them to find you a subleaser for their horrible complex...and theyll charge you to do so so do yourself a favor and dont live here.
