Salem Park is cheaper than most other apartments in Conway. That doesn't mean it's a bargain. The rent isn't worth it here.
I'll write about my personal experience instead of speaking in uneducated generalities. When I moved in my apartment which
had allegedly been cleaned prior to my move in was filthy. It had a greasy residue on the wall that looked as though it hadn't been cleaned in years. The carpets where very stained, and worst of all the unit smelled terrible. It wasn't something that a little air freshener would take care of either.
The wall unit air conditioner that doesn't heat or cool the bedroom well was without a filter and caked with mold when I moved in. When I got maintanance to come out and look at it, the guy said, "this is usual," and tried to burn the mold and gunk off with a blow torch. That was a horrible idea, but it got worse when he tried to reattach the front cover with screws that were 2 inches longer than needed. This punctured a cooling tube, runining the a/c. Even though the maintanance guy broke it, it took over a month of talking to management 2 or 3 times a week to get it fixed. One of the managers once said, "you don't really need an air conditioner, do you?"
The memebers of management here are completely unresponsive. They will literally ignore when you go to the office and continue to have personal conversations without even a, "I'll be with you in a moment."
It's cheap, but not a baragain. You don't pay a lot, but you amazingly get less than you pay for. I definitely don't recommend it to anyone.
I rented from fall '06 through summer '07.
