I have lived here for about a year and a half, and my overall experience has been miserable. I think the quality of the apartments is pretty good, but definately not worth the outrageous price.
When I first moved in, the property was very quiet. About
6 months later, a ton of kids began to move in. The area became filled with loud music, loud cars, screaming people, and beer bottles. The management did an ok job in trying to fix the issue, but it still remains a problem.
In addition to the partying neighbors, the property is filled with old people who sit at home all day and snoop. The neighbors complain about everything!
The lease is written so broadly that you can be evicted for almost anything that annoys your neighbors including smoking on your porch (which is not prohibited by the lease or city municipal code), any sort of noise (including having your tv too loud), and odors (including barbequing on your porch). The walls are paper thin, so you can hear everything your neighbors do...yes, everything. If you are unlucky enough to live on the first floor, you can hear every step above you. If the person above you has a dog, it sounds like a heard of elephants is running around upstairs.
In addition, if you have an issue with the management, no one from the management company will respond to your complaints. The deposits are outrageous, and they try in every conceivable way to rip you off. The property manager is never around. She is either on her lunch break, riding her motorcycle in the parking lot, or burning tires out in the parking lot with her friends' cars.
In addition, there is never any parking. The doors on my car have been dented several times by rude neighbors parking too close. There are parking permits available, but they are never enforced.
Fox Meadows promotes their "gym" and pool/hot tub. However, the "gym" is composed of 2 cardio machines probably from the 80's. The pool and hot tub were open for about a month during the summer and are usually occupied by elderly people and their young grandchildren fighting, screaming, and crying. If you're unlucky enough to live by the pool, you get to listen to this all day, everyday, and into the evening!
I would not move in here if you have other options. The management and neighbors have made my stay here unbearable!
I rented from winter '07 through winter '08.
