Landlord verbally said rent won't increase as long as I renew lease. That was a lie. Regardless, rent still remained almost $100 dollars lower than other complexes in this area. NOT quiet, despite brochure that says you'll think you live in the country.
Walls are paper thin, especially upstairs and downstairs. You can almost hear what your downstairs neighbors are saying through the floor. My downstairs neighbors complained to me once about the noise I make doing the dishes and taking a shower. If you move here make sure not to live on the bottom floor. I was lucky, I live on top. Most of my neighbors have been awesome. A few have really sucked. If you happen to have neighbors above or below you that like loud music, there is no escape. The whole apartment will resonate and tremble. One person was shot to death while I lived here and the hookers aren't too much of a bother. I feel safe though; the police are always in the neighborhood doing something! As a matter of fact, last week they came by to check if I saw the guy in the next building over punch his girlfriend in the face. Neither the slippery stairs attached to my building nor the faulty downspout creating the problem haven't been fixed even though I've mentioned it to the manager multiple times and three different people have fallen down the stairs. Borderline slumlord. Pay the extra $50 to $100 dollars a month and stay away.
I rented from summer '05 through summer '09.
