Avoid this place at all costs. I have lived here three years and with the new management, the place has steadily deteriorated. Originally I loved my unit and the space. Although the apartment was old the price and location more then made up for it. However over the last year, with new management, the complex has deteriorated and I would not recommend it to anyone. Although the apartments are large and the rent appears to be reasonable, the company shifts the rent into fees and utilities. For example the water bill. There is only one meter/bill for the property and they divided amongst the apartments- resulting in large bills regardless of personal water habits. You will pay for others miss uses- including the community washer machines, filling the pool, the car cleaning facilities, and all ground keeping uses. I lived at this apartment when the water bill was a standard 40 bucks a month- Now under the new management I pay on average $80-100 a month. Additionally, there are large fees for trash and community lighting. This despite trash overflowing dumpsters, causing a visible rodent problem, and community lighting not working. There are many issues inside the apartment as well. In my apartment there is mold in the air vents. You can visibly see mold on the inside vents. The complex brought a guy into the apartment to fix the issue but the mold was back in two months. Additionally, there is a ongoing battle with roaches and bugs. The poorly insulated apartment allow insects to invade the house in the winter or whenever. (Not to mention causing costly heating and cooling bills). The bug infestation continues to this day. Lastly the office staff and manager are dishonest. They misrepresent the apartment and fees when you sign and once signed, there is no way to break your lease. You are stuck in it for the duration of the lease with no option to get out. Please don't make the same mistake I made and sign a contract with Glenlake. I rented from fall '02 through summer '07. ...
