I moved into my apartment and signed a lease for $380 a month. After the first month, abbey west decided to raise my rent to $420 a month. Apparently, they can do that because article 7 of the lease contract allows them to raise rent at any time for any reason and there is nothing I can do about it. Reading through the rest of the contract, I learned that if you have bad electrical wiring in the fan they provide or the stove they provide and it starts a fire, then YOU are liable for all damages. So, unless you are ready to sign your life away, I would stay far away from abbey west I rented from fall 10 through spring 11. ...

Abbey west management sucks...One person will tell you onething and the next day another employee will tell you something else..And they are habitual liars and rude to say the least. There's nothing good about this place. Everyone in the office are morons. Run far away! I would rather live in the ghetto than here. It looks nice, but I promise you, that is far as it goes. I rented from fall '07 through fall '08.

Good place, very reasonable rent. It gets a bad reputation because it is "far" from campus (4.2 miles to the arch) but I have had barely any problems with the place. Management is good, quick and responsive and they really get to know you. The only problem I have is with the gate which is always broken, the speed bumps everywhere and my garbage disposal sounds like a jet taking off. Seriously I can here my neighbors grinding food. Otherwise I reccomend it I rented from fall '06 through spring '07. ...
