I rented from winter '06 through summer 10.

The Colfax Villas advertised off street parking, clean redone apartments, dogs welcome, and friendly help 24/7 before we moved in, after we moved in we were told that there were no more parking permits, our place was a dump, we got told that we could not have a dog, and found out there is no one on site on the week ends. We have noticed that some of the tenants are aloud special privileges that not everyone else gets, there are people here with dogs, people getting new doors, and there are always a few permit spots open, and when these same tenants call the landlord about something wrong, she is there in a heart beat, I have tried calling her multiple times and not once did she see me on that same day. I, and other white people in these complexes feel she is prejudice towards us. I haven't payed rent this month because I do not want to give her more of my money, but I need a place to stay for now, she has made living here miserable, and a chore. Everyday something new is wrong with this place, and everyday I feel she is going to blame something else on us. My key broke off in the door once and it took two days for someone to come out and get me a new lock, we were supposed to get two keys for it but we only got one from her, when we first moved in we were supposed to get two keys for the "controlled" front door, we only had one for months, but it doesn't close most of the time, or gets propped open by someone, our fire exit door does not latch on our floor and the pipes are always leaking into the kitchen or the closet. the heat does not seem to be on during the week ends and then full blast on week nights. I could go on all day about all the things wrong with the Colfax Villas, but it really comes down to poor management, thank you for your time. I rented from winter '09 through winter '09. ...

My roommate and I moved in mid-November. We were promised new appliances, wireless internet, and a "family-like" atmosphere. What we got..... a refrigerator with knuckle marks in it (clearly not new...?), no microwave, a leaking gas stove, absolutely no wireless internet anywhere in the apartment, one apartment key for the two of us (that we had to go get copied ourselves), a mailbox key that opens another person's mailbox (which the landlord -Stephanie- yelled at me for accidently opening someone else's mailbox...?), a security door that just opens when you simply pull on it- no key required (real secure!!!), and a very very rude landlord named Stephanie that never gets anything done. We were supposed to move in at 2:00 pm but the room was still being finished so we had to return at 7pm to move in, and the people that live by us always yell at us for shutting the door "too hard"...? It is absolutely awful and unsafe in all ways. I cannot wait to get out! Thank GOD we only signed a 6-month lease!!! DO NOT MOVE HERE EVER!!!!!!! NOT WORTH ANY AMOUNT OF MONEY!!!!!
