Awesome experience!! Lived there for 2 years, absolutely no issues. Graduated from the U of MN and had to move on unfortunately. Location is awesome, neighbors are great and the free internet is a bonus.

I love this apartment. It is close to everything but quiet and secure roo. I have needed a couple things fixed and management was prompt in communicating and addressing the issues. Mike Hoag was the best landlord!! He responds fast and was super easy to get along with. He worked to get me out of a my lease after I found out I got transferred. Highly recommend!! I rented from fall 2019 through summer 2020.

The facilities were not nearly what was portrayed online. When I moved in to my place, there was dried sticky substances on the walls, the faucet was broken, the windows didn't open, but the also didn't lock properly. He failed to install any sort of functioning kitchen hood to the point where I am not able to boil water withiut setting the alarm off. This was a huge nuissance. What's even worse, Mike charged me for a "broken" fire alarm when I moved out, even though he acknowledged that the issue was "nothing to worry about" during my stay. Mike is a dishonest person and you would be wise to keep as much distance between yourself and him as possible. I rented from fall 2018 through fall 2019. ...

***THE MANAGER RATING IS AN ACTUAL ZERO, BUT THE SITE WONT LET ME GIVE MINIMAL RATINGS***** Mr. Hoag has got to be the most awful landlord I have encountered in all of my years. He pretends to be interested in helping his tenants while he courts your application for his properties, but once you've signed the lease you become a money tree for Mike. There were issues with my apartment prior to move in and when I asked Mike about the damages he said he'd have them fixed shortly; after moving out, I learned that my entire deposit went to fixing the issues that were present when I moved in. All in all, Mike cannot be trusted and will lie, cheat, and steal from you without an ounce of remorse; in all honesty he seems to get some sort of pleasure from harassing his tenants, like a weird kink or something. He needs to reexamine his business practices or he'll end up in some hot water. I rented from fall 2016 through spring 2017. ...

Okay, so here's the deal. Mike Hoag is absolutely not to be trusted. Let me preface this post with the fact that I recommend staying as far away from that weasel as possible. Not only does Mike fail to address my maintenance requests, his "handywork" is atrocious at best. He nickel and dimes you for everything you have and isn't afraid to up your rent, increase the cost of laundry, or steal what is most certainly an egregious amount out of my security deposit. He is a bad man not to be trusted. There was even an instance where I was in need of subletting my apartment and Mike would literally say things like, "Its too much work for me to do a showing" or "I've invested too much time and energy into this already". Like Michael, you're an adult, well you at least pretend to be one, you know that you're literal job is to be a landlord...so shut up and do it with dignity you sad sad man. Mike Hoag is a slippery eel who will smile to your face, tell you what you want to hear and then never deliver on his word. Avoid him at all costs. He doesn't care about you only every nickel he can squeeze from doubling laundry charges to giving ZERO grace period on rent. Yep not even a day in case you forget it's a 75 dollar fee. I had a great experience at this property! I stayed there for 3 years and never had a single complaint. The free internet was awesome. Management responded super fast to any problems. Would highly recommend! I rented from fall 2015 through fall 2018.

I have been waiting so long to write this review, and I hope that, if you are considering renting from Michael Hoag, that you will read this and realize you SHOULD NOT rent from him. Seriously, all of these reviews of him are 100% accurate. We moved into an apartment that had not been cleaned and had mold all over the shower. When we brought this up to Michael, these were his exact words: "Well, that's not my problem." We had issues throughout our lease with spiders, ants, centipedes, leaking pipes (as we were in the basement), gas leaks, and mold. We even came home and found a rat in our living room. When we called him about the gas, it took him over an hour to get there. When I called him about the rat, he called me the next day and asked if I was sure it was a rat (as if I don't know the difference between a tiny mouse and a huge rat). He never did anything about any of the problems we had besides plug up a few holes in the wall that should have been plugged up a long time ago. I am pretty sure apartment #13 is not even a legal apartment, as there is no electrical box in the building for it and my roommate's room had so many issues. When she lifted up her bed when we were moving, she had MOLD all over the bottom of her bed frame that she had gotten two years prior. Her father had put in all new carpet for us when we moved in (which Michael never paid for, even after the company called him multiple times), so it was something that happened because of the horrid conditions of the building. Please, if you value yourself and your quality of life, look at the cheap price of the rent and realize that you get what you pay for. Don't do it, and don't give this bald, nasty, mousy little piece of crap excuse of a man your money. Trust me, it is NOT worth it. I rented from fall 2016 through summer 2017. ...

i check back on this site frequently to see if i can post again about how terrible of a place this is, and how terrible a person mike hoag is. do not rent from this a-hole, literally the worst place i have ever lived and the worst landlord you will ever come in contact with. anything with DOMI properties (his and parters company) avoid. will screw you out of money, is extremely rude to you, unless he wants something from you, then of course hes the best landlord on the planet...his partner is also a lawyer so they tend to get real cute when you point out to them you are getting screwed over. i filed a complaint with the BBB. i recommend you do the same when he screws you over. I agree 100% with the other reviews regarding Mike Hoag and his management property. He is guaranteed to not respond to you. He has had 2 of his personal vehicles parked in the tenant lot. The building is 2 days away from having our gas shut off because he refuses to respond to Centerpoint Energy. This guy is a complete douche crook. Should not be allowed to own property. Completely irresponsible and cares less about his tenants and properties than an owner should. Please, I beg you, don't rent from this moron. I rented from winter 2015 through winter 2015. ...

I am writing this review to possibly save anyone who is considering renting from Mike Hoag or DOMI Properties. Stay away. My neighbors have cockroaches and when a storm came, their apartment flooded and the landlord has done nothing to fix it for months. There were periods of 2-3 days at a time where my apartment had no hot water. At this moment a fuse has been blown in my kitchen for five days now and the food in my refrigerator is going rotten. Have not heard anything at all from Mike. There has been water leaking from the ceiling over my shower for months and mold is growing all around the bathroom because of it. The entire apartment is in a state of disrepair and squalor. In the beginning I thought it's just a cheap place and it can't be that bad, but I am so surprised at how bad it really is. Living here this past year has been a nightmare. I rented from summer 11 through summer 11. ...
