we moved in here november of 2009. we choose this place because it was near the freeway and the rent was a good price and we only had to pay electric which is good. we deffinetly did not get our moneys worth out of this place. the first day we moved in
our freezer broke and after buying all new grocceries at least half went bad due to a broken freezer. it took them two days to bring us a new refrigerator. our thermostat was broke as well when we first move in. the guy cam to fix it within 24hrs but did a shity job and did not fix it right. the second time someone came h said that the fist guy who fixed it didn't do it right and the whole thing had to be replaced. the walls are soooo paper thin that you can put a hole in them so easily. the noise in these apartments are so bad. it is never quiet. you can always here people running up and down the stairs and in and out of the building door. or windows also leak when it rains and we have to put towels on the window sill so the rain doesn't get the carpet all wet. this happens in the living room and the master bedroom. the parking lot entrance had pot hols so big for at least a year and a half that we lived here. they have two pools here one small and one big which is nice but half the time the pools are dirty or the filters in them are broken and it turns the pool water green and maintenance can never get them fixed. the bigger pool in summer of 09 was closed for at least half of it due to this problem. the office staff are just a bunch of teenage girls who dress like sluts and have no idea what is going on. hey got our amount for rent wrong so many times and one time we were late on our rent so they told how much our late fee was and then the next day called us again and told us a different number we owed. they don't even know what is the correct thing and what is not. they change management more then i have ever seen. it seems ever month w have someone knew who still doesn't know anything just like the est of them. our neighbors who we me and became friends with when we moved in had the worst problem of all. they had a problem where in there bathtub the tiles were falling off left and right and there sealing in the bathroom almost caved in on them. oh and i our bathroom the bathtub wouldn't drain for about 6 months and we told them so many time and the bathroom sink wouldn't drain and when they came to fix the problem the bathtub got fixed but the sink didn't and it still hasn't and we have told them several times. i have to brush my teeth in the kitchen sink. oh and the the washer and dryers never work half the time everyone complains about them. this is the worst run place ever and the worst place to live. it is te biggest piece of shit for the money. we should have been paying like 500 even a month instead of 670 for this dump. oh and the fernice is in the master bedroom closet and it is soooo loud at night when you are trying to sleep.
I rented from fall '09 through summer 10.

This is one of THE WORST apartments to live in. Living here (from summer '08 to summer '09) for only ONE year has been a nightmare!
From what I've heard, this place USED to be decent; only decent. Recently, it's gone horribly down the drain FAST.
Reason being: mom and dad used to own the company but IDIOTICALLY handed the company over to their 21-year-old son (not to discriminate against any young adults but WOW has he given you guys a BAD name!). I don't think that this new, younger owner gives much of a care for this place, which is why it's falling apart so bad and so quickly.
Since I've lived here (1 year, 1 month)...
-- the rent increased 3-4 months into our lease (but I heard from a long-time tenant that it had gone up the PREVIOUS year already and normally DIDN'T go up for a few years at a time but suddenly it's rising constantly!)
-- we went through TWO property managers and now on our THIRD
-- the staff is THE WORST. There are new people there practically every time I went into the office (at least once a month). Most of them seemed very lazy, not happy about their jobs, and certainly DID NOT care about the tenants at all. Being that "Wyoga Lake Towers" and "Blossom Village" combined to form "Wyoga Lake Commons," the maintenance crew from both complexes had to be cut in half to combine into one (and to save on payroll). Unfortunately, neither maintenance team was very happy with the merge so ALL of the crew from "Blossom Village" completely QUIT and half the crew from "Wyoga Lake Towers" quit which left only half of a maintenance crew to maintain double the property that they formerly maintained. Unluckily for EVERYONE, there have been SO many shotty, lazy, unsufficing maintenance crew members that they've gone through. Not only have we had a HORRENDOUS amount of maintenance problems here BUT the crew wouldn't fix them in a timely manner, were not very readily available (even though there's an "emergency maintenance" line), and did not sufficiently do their jobs because they'd have to come back in a month to fix it AGAIN!
-- (specifically with our apartment) we've had SO much water trouble, such as our kitchen sink backing up CONSTANTLY (almost monthly), our bathroom sink was leaking, our shower was leaking, the base of our toilet was leaking, there's a water leak in our living room ceiling, and our dishwasher has water SITTING in the bottom (not to mention our heater not working DURING THE WINTER which forced us to use faulty space heaters for about 2-3 weeks, and them changing our perfectly working thermostat to an outdated, temperamental thermostat that KIND OF works properly). Back to our water issues...about 3 months into our lease, we read in the paper that "Wyoga Lake Commons has a water/sewer bill over $100,000." Yea, that just speaks for itself.
-- we've discovered how UNSANITARY it is to live here. Not only has dirty water been leaking or backing up back into our apartment all over the place, but we've found mold, our ceiling is starting to deteriorate which could lead to potential mold UNDER the drywall, there are SO many cracks or unfinished corners that leave holes for bugs to crawl in and out (we, specifically, have had SUCH a bad case of spiders), and when we FIRST moved in, I was congested for about the first 2 months because of the dust and residue in the apartment, unless it was mold or bad chemicals of some sort (when I went outside of the apartment elsewhere, I was completely fine!)
-- there has been SUCH miscommunication with all of the staff, from management to maintenance. For examples, I have NO idea what the pet policy is because everyone keeps saying something different! On some DAYS the pools are open but I'm not sure if the maintenance crew decides that (because they take care of it) or if the office staff/management decides (in case it's a rainy day or too cold out or something). I have to call the office to get a maintenance person to my apartment to fix something and SOMEWHERE, something goes wrong because the maintenance guy doesn't come for about 3-5 hours. WHEN the maintenance guy actually GETS to my apartment, he does his work but 90% of the time "HAS" to come back later and it's not completely fixed but "will hold us over till tomorrow or a few days." They tell us they'll be back on a certain day at this certain time but either DON'T SHOW UP so I have to call the office or are SEVERAL hours late.
I live in the "Towers" of this complex BUT I DO have 3 friends who live on the other side in the "Village" of the complex. They say it is JUST AS BAD. They've had more water troubles in their bathrooms than we have.
I don't know ANYONE who would want to live in this place. The price is NOT right for this place either. After living here for the past year, believe me, if you think it's a good bargain, you're getting RIPPED OFF. I thought this place was a great price but needless to say, the price was NOT worth the pain.
Parking is also bad. There are carports but they cost $25 every month to park under them. Lot parking on the outer edge of the property (which is where I live) is TERRIBLE. There aren't even actual LOTS to park but a long line of parking spaces instead and costly carports that are parallel. On top of that, the parking lots are NOT maintained at all, at least that's what it seems like. There are SO many potholes and unevenness in the pavement. I also find things lying around on the ground, such as broken beer bottles, empty beer cans/boxes, run-over fast food, TONS of cigarette butts, and the typical small pieces of paper and wrappers. It gets PRETTY unsanitary and unsafe sometimes to walk around on the pavement.
If they tore down both complexes and rebuilt them again, they'd save so much more money AND maintenance hassle! I understand that that'd require everyone to vacate the premises but I don't think that the new, younger owner of the company does or is going to care THAT much about this place :(
Unless OWNERSHIP (not just management) is put into someone else's hands who actually CARES, SHOWS he cares, and behaves RESPONSIBLY, this place has no hope of improvement and I can DEFINITELY forsee it closing down, not only because the physical construction of the place will crumble, but so many MORE health code violations will occur.
