This place has been a total nightmare. We were burglarized (lost about $7000 worth of possessions), which I understand is not totally Heritage's fault. However, I had to fight for nearly a month to get the damaged front and back doors replaced. When
talking to office management, they just told me it was too bad and that the doors would not be replaced. I then had to call the corporate office on a nearly daily basis for two weeks. The cited the Fair Housing Act, stating that it would not permit "special treatment." When I asked them to specifically point in the Act where it said that they could not replace broken doors for robbery victims, the said it was an overarching theme. When I said I would have an attorney take a look over the act, they folded and replaced the doors (one about two weeks after they agreed and the other over a month after they agreed.)
When I moved in, they promised wireless throughout the complex and a beautiful new fitness facility. We moved in August when it was supposed to be completed. It is now January and there is no wireless and no fitness center. The substitute fitness center is an unfit apartment with two broken treadmills and a crappy elliptical. I have spoken with them numerous times and have been literally been told "two more weeks" for over five months.
When moving in, know that staff will be rude after signing your lease, will not consider your problems, give you a run around with corporate and will not provide the amenities that you were promised upon signing your lease. Also, ask to see your own unit well before coming in to sign the lease. They don't look like the display. Staff will let you see your unit they day that you sign your lease and then act like they will lease it to someone else, leaving you homeless, if you ask for more time to consider.
I rented from winter '08 through summer '08.
