This place is cheap with a prime location. But that comes at a price. The landlord refused to fix my broken windows (this is a first floor unit) and instead duct taped the glass. The entire building is infested with mice. The laundry machines were expensive and did is not work properly (ended up paying less to use a laundry service). I had to call the police on multiple occasions due to hard drug activity and violence with weapons the building - the police have this property flagged as having a high call in rate. The landlord would let himself into my unit without warning at all hours without so much as a knock. He also cashed my rent check (and the checks of the two other tenants I was friends with) VERY late and would not accept anything other than a mailed check or cash - no direct deposit was available. Seriously, this house is known as “the bando with weird window bars” and the landlord is a known slum lord - he owns multiple houses in the same condition on Wallace st alone. Only move here if you desperately want to live in Fairmount and are ready to live in a nightmare. ...
