Apartments are too expensive for how old and gross they are. My dad lived here 30 years ago and said that the insides of the apartments looked the same. I rented from fall 2017 through spring 2018.

Close to campus and multiple restaurants and grocery stores. They are terrible about communication when it comes to rent, expenses, and move outs. I moved out mid semester when I got married and I was promised multiple times that I wouldn't have to pay utilities once I moved out and that they would put it into their system and every single month without fail they charged me the utilities so I had to waste time and call (when they wouldn't answer then I had to go in) and get it fixed. Also they won't notify you that your security deposit is ready to pick up unless you call them and ask them. The apartment is decent quality as long as you spend more and get updated apartments. I'm afraid I have to agree with the other reviews, poor management and customer service. Very little effort on the part of the office staff to communicate with residents, and/or follow through on managerial responsibilities. I would suggest you look elsewhere. DO NOT LIVE HERE!!! trying to help people out that have no idea what they are getting themselves into. seriously Glenwood is the biggest joke. the managment is so rude and you could get a way nicer apartment for the same price or cheaper. Nothing works, you pay for internet that doesnt work, parking that sucks ( they dont even have enough parking for all of the residents) you pay about 40 in utlities no matter what even if you dont use the A/C or heater. Everything is so run down you would think for how much your paying they would try and upgrade a little or AT LEAST replace the things arent working in your apartment.. which in my case was almost everything. Beware of letting your daughter live at Glenwood. Near the end of the winter 2016 semester, 2 young men showed up at my daughter's apartment at 6:00a on a Sunday morning to "clean". They let themselves in using the door code. My daughter and her roommates heard the noise, walked into the kitchen, undressed right out of bed, and found the 2 guys. The guys said they had to clean the apartment that day. The contract allows people to enter the apartment to clean at the end of the semester, which we paid $35 for, but it did not say that two young men could enter the apartment of 6 young women at 6a on a weekend, unannounced. I called the Glenwood office to discuss this the next morning (Monday), but their voicemail was full. It was still full for the next two days. Later that week, I was finally able to leave a voice message, but never heard back. A week later I submitted an email to their website, but have never heard back. It was over a week before the door code was changed. I rented from fall 2015 through spring 2016. ...

Positive: Glenwood is close to campus, very social, has a crazy good maintenance crew. Literally. I sent in a work order and they showed up in 5 minutes. Every time. Lots of parking. Great social scene...you can just walk down the hallway and knock on every door in your ward in seconds. Negative: Uh...they say you pay $275...but I averaged $345. Add $15 PER MONTH for parking. $10 for internet, somehow $20-30 for utilities EACH (don't ask how that happens when we NEVER turn on the heater/AC). And beware: it's super old. Beds are on cinderblocks. Mold on the baseboards. Basement is super humid...windows always have moisture on them. Just take that into account. It's not terrible, but it's a bit of shock at first. I stayed in a premium apt, so it was more expensive, but WAY nicer than the standard ones. In the premium you get a nice leather couch, island in the kitchen, all the cabinets are nicer and newer, and the chairs are as well. I think with rent, parking, utilities, and whatever else they charge I was paying like $350/month (shared premium). This place is pretty nice. The mgmt throws some parties here and there, which were always fun. Cleaning checks were a breeze with my RA. We only needed maintenance done like twice, but they did it within a couple days. BE AWARE, they (meaning UPE, not Glenwood) tow MERCILESSLY here. If you don't have a parking pass, make sure you leave within a few minutes of midnight (1:30 on Friday nights) or you will definitely get booted and robbed of $60. Speaking of parking, they don't have enough permits for all the residents, even with the overflow. I had to park at the hotel behind building 4 for like 2 months, but they never booted or towed me. About a 15-20 minute walk to campus. Close to the stadium and other apt complexes. Overall, Glenwood is nice, if you get a premium. I would recommend it. The management is poor and the business practices are shady. The apartments are run down. One time my ceiling fan broke and the fan blade flew off and almost hit me in the head. There are a number of hidden charges in the contract. The management lost my roommates rent a number of times. I was working at 4 in the morning and asked for some help because our neighbors were playing very music and yelling profanities at 2 in the morning almost every night, and after they wouldn't stop even when we talked to them 5+ times we asked the management for help and they said they wouldn't do anything about it. I put in a maintenance request a month and a half ago to fix our front door (which will not latch shut, so it will never close) and nothing has happened. Every time I talk to them about anything they just proceed to tell me I am wrong and there is no problem. Also, the internet never really worked and they always blamed us as residents for it. I had an extremely poor experience, do not live here. ...

Don't allow yourself to get desperate and sign a contract at Glenwood because it's the whole thing left in the middle of August. Hated it. I rented from fall 10 through winter 11.

Glenwood is an absolute joke. They tow you for no reason, charge you for internet that doesnt work, purposely dont post pictures of the inside of their apartments on the internet, give you a plywood bed to sleep on, sell more parking passes than they have parking spots.... and the list goes on. Take my word and please look elsewhere for off campus housing I rented from fall 10 through winter 11. ...

After doing the math from the google reviews, 15% of people who live here have a good experience. I would compare living at glenwood to living at the homeless shelter in downtown salt lake. Management is horrible. They care for their tenants about the same amount as Hitler cared about the Jews. Internet is probably the worst thing about glenwood, its so bad I can't think of even one positive thing...oh wait, other humans live here to console you if you get trapped into living at glenwood as well. This apartment charges WAY too much for what it's worth. The manager is also a pill to work with and tries to charge you left and right. Really just was a huge mistake to live here. Everything in the apartment is falling apart, because well, they haven't remodeled them in ages. And it's very clear. The location and social aspect are the only decent components of this complex. And the social thing can depend on the individual. The rooms are tiny and the apartment itself is not nearly big enough to acquire 6 people. Definitely consider other options. DO NOT LIVE HERE. The manager, Christa Hines, is horrible. While living here she made and accident with my deposit charging me two deposits and then refused to pay me one back and on top of that I only ended up getting half of the other one. She is horrible to work with. There are so many hidden fees, every semester you will be charged a $35 non refundable fee for cleaning that they don't tell you about. For the $210 they make per apartment off that you do not receive hardly any cleaning. On top of that they will lead you to believe that your utilities will be $15 per month but at the end of every semester you will receive another bill for excess utilities every semester. If they screw up your billing even once like they do with most people you will end up spending far more than just $285 per month. Plan to spend closer to $320 and for that price you should save yourself the hassle of dealing with horrible management, filthy and incredibly outdated apartment, black mold on the ceilings, clogged drains, and everything else and just live somewhere that's actually worth that much money. Furthermore, Glenwood is entirely paid off and for how much the owners make they do not put any of it back into the apartments. The main benefits are the wards are great, social life is good, and the maintenance crew is quick. Altogether, it's the worst place I lived in Provo and despite the positive attributes, it is not worth your money or trouble. ...

Parking is TERRIBLE! Just because you live there, doesn't guarantee a parking spot. Average age is 18-22. Great location. Close to BYU campus. Wards are very friendly if you put forth effort to get involved. Front office is terrible. They will ding you for everything. I hate glenwood. The apartments were way too small for six people. I hated the fact taht I rarely had any privacy. Everyone says glenwood is super social, but I would never want to socialize with the people that live there. Most people seriously act like they're 13 and were incapable of growing up, it's ridiculous. Maybe that's because it's a younger crowd, I don't know. Everything, and I seriously mean everything broke - shower, stove, microwave, fridge; you name it, it didn't work at some point. I didn't like walking far to campus, but you can't really change the location of the complex. Some of the RAs were cool, but most of them were major tools. It's kind of dirty, too. When I moved out, I moved my bed up against the wall and I found mold growing under my bed (I'm a super clean person, I have no idea how mold got there). Overall, I just didn't like it. This place was amazing with very chill people and lots of parking for the spring and summer with pool parties and free food on the weekends. Everyone was super chill and I had fun, But the downside came when it got closer to fall. I had way too many roommates, and there just is not enough space for 6 girls. Our fridge is too small, you have to limit the amount of groceries you buy. If you want to park at your building you can forget about that and park underground or at the overflow lot. And with 5 other roommates, especially girls you don't know what you're gonna get, especially when they dominate the space because they've lived there before. When I tried to move out a couple months before the spring semester ended, the girls in the other apartment kept giving me excuses why I couldn't move there even though I was distressed and very depressed at my old apartment. The landlord was great though and offered to help me this whole time, but I never want to share a space with 5-6 other girls ever again. ...
