1200 West Marshall was the the perfect place for me to live during my first two years of college. I always felt safe and secure, as a security guard was always on duty throughout the night. The facility had great amenities including courtyards, study rooms, closed parking garage and gym. The staff always kept common areas clean and sanitary. Maintenance was always quick to respond to any issues and were resolved quickly. I would recommend this place to anyone! ...

This was a good place to live as a student at VCU. It was far enough from campus to avoid most of the noise but youre definitely living with undergrads so there will be some. It is close to Kroger which was nice for grocery shopping!

I stay in a one-bedroom apartment at 1200 West Marshall. I signed my lease in December of 2019 before COVID-19 was established as a pandemic. I could not get out of my lease because they said the apartment was not affiliated with VCU. Although the majority of residents are students at VCU. All of my classes were online, so I did not need to spend the extra money living on campus; I could've stayed at home. With that being said, I stay at my apartment, but I also go home regularly. They only give each resident an allotted amount of $20 for electricity, so good luck not having to pay extra for an already expensive apartment. I pay $1,559 a month plus an extra $80 a month to park in the garage. The parking garage is very small and has cement beams every 2-3 parking spaces, so you must be careful or you may dent/scratch your car. Not only is the parking garage very small, but the walls are very thin. You can hear the conversations of your neighbors all throughout the day and night and every step that they take. The wifi is also very spotty. There were numerous occasions I could not complete homework, was kicked off of zoom meeting, or had a test submitted incomplete because of the wifi. While this apartment is fully furnished, near campus, and has many amenities; it is overall not worth the price. Many of their amenities are closed or close early due to provisions because of COVID-19. Even though 1200 West Marshall has many complaints, nothing is ever done to correct them. They are constantly calling my phone, texting me, and putting fliers on my door to get me to renew my lease at a "cheaper" price. I would recommend looking for somewhere much cheaper with better wifi conditions and thicker walls. I will be moving out next year. ...
