One block off-campus, the AOII sorority house is both the closest house to campus and the nicest sorority house. It is an older house built close to 1900, but the architecture is classic and beautiful. It is three stories with a basement below. The kitchen is great with four living rooms including one movie theatre area. The floors are mostly composed of rooms in which two girls live and on the third floor is a sleeping porch. It sounds scary but you also have a bed in your room. I love the sleeping porch because it is a sleeping zone. Unlike dorm rooms, lights are always off and people are always quiet in the room. No phones are on so you never have to worry about roommates barging in and being loud (or waking up your roommate). Also, it is on the third floor so people can socialize downstairs and you won't hear a thing! We also have a library, study room (with a test bank), storage, ski closet, laundry, craft room, meeting room, and central dining area. It is in an amazing location a few blocks from a grocery store, ice skating rink, park, tennis courts, about a mile from downtown, and one block from the East side of campus which is actually SO much closer than the on-campus dorms!
