The Castilian is a great off-campus apartment for freshman students because a dining hall is included. The rates are the same as on-campus apartments, and it's more renovated. Also very close to campus.

Overall, staying at the Castilian has made my first semester in college rather enjoyable. The people here are mostly kids involved in Greek life, so it can get loud sometimes, but most of the time it's pretty quiet. The food here is what you'd expect from a dining hall, with vegan and gluten-free options, soda machines, a salad bar, and a coffee machine, so there's a good variety of foods. Mostly, I like it for the location! A few steps off campus, it makes getting to class extremely easy and convenient, and getting food off Guadalupe Street hard to resist. It's pretty safe, although the front desk never checks if you actually live there, and it's pretty easy to sneak in during the day (at night they lock the doors and you need to swipe to get in), but it still feels pretty safe. Albeit, the rooms are a lot smaller than they appear in pictures, but if you arrange the furniture correctly, it feels bigger. Overall, would recommend staying here! ...
