I have been living her for a little over two months now and it is the first time I am actually living on my own. I would say it is peaceful with beautiful flowers all over. The places was actually the first apartment that caught my eye.

Living here has been absolutely awful. We were forced to move into an unfinished building and we have not stopped paying for it since we got here. In the middle of a pandemic, the building manager had everyone move in at the same time, packed into only 2/3 of the elevators because one was still unfinished. On top of that, there was constant construction for months after we moved in and only a few floors had blinds. They then had random contractors going into people's rooms, whether or not they were home, to move and touch their things to put cheap blinds up that break every time you touch them. On top of all of that, there were about 6 grown men in my apartment and only two of them were working, the others were sitting on our couch and touching our things and breathing our air in the middle of a pandemic. I could go on and on because I haven't even gotten to the "24/7 security". My roommate watched someone slide under the garage door and I saw an old man follow girls inside when they weren't looking. Both times the men went into the garage and we reported what we saw to the office. I then watched two teenagers from the office poke their heads into the garage and say it was okay. Then I heard in the elevator from a stranger that their car has been broken into twice while in the garage. I understand that this is their first year, but I have never had someone forsake my health and safety the way that the people at the Grad do. This may be a beautiful building, but it is run by someone who doesn't care about his residents, and very blatantly only cares about his paycheck. ...

I enjoyed my stay at the Grad San Jose. The apartments are very nice and well kept. Although, the rent at these apartments is more on the higher side I think that It is reasonable considering the quality of the apartments. I would highly recommend the grad for anybody looking for a nice apartment off-campus. ...

The Grad San Jose is a decent apartment building, however my experience there is only mediocre, but could be better. Since it is there first year being open, everything is brand new which is a plus. However, with that comes a lot of issues, especially since everything was rushed with COVID-19. Within the first 6 months of it being open, there have been a lot of issues including: poor maintenance around the building, poor staff service, security issues, poor maintenance within the apartment units, and lack of COVID-19 precautions. Aside from the various issues that can be fixed overtime, my personal experience between my roommates and I have been pretty memorable. I definitely prefer the apartment lifestyle over the dorm lifestyle. ...

The Grad has been an interesting place to live in. While moving into the Grad, there were many things unfinished that compromised the safety of residents. The building doesn't seem to handle everything properly but does seem like it would have more benefits if we weren't under the COVID rules, we would have more access to the things we are paying for. It is close to campus although we are not able to attend in-person classes. ...
