Needs to be negative stars. We just unfortunately moved our son into this complex. Do not even stop for you a tour this place needs a revamp badly. They obviously do not care about their tenants, the halls are filthy, door knobs falling off entry doors, alarm safety signs hanging off the ceiling. Floors are filthy. Mold on the apartments. As a mom I'm telling you Do not put your child here!!!! ...

Grandmarc is horrendously overpriced! For starters, there are all types of disgusting bugs/dust in the apartment hallways. I had to deal with different bugs (such as cockroaches, spiders, and ants) constantly. Second, the walls are THIN. I can hear the toilet from the unit above me flush, the shower running, as well as a vacuum being used. People living upstairs can also be heard from study rooms/internet cafe. Finally, the wifi is average, be prepared to deal with constant outages. I highly do not recommend living here, look for another place to live at. I rented from fall 2017 through spring 2018. ...

My stay here has been horrible!!!! The rent is expensive ($740 per month for a 2/2), the staff are unapt, and the lease does not protect paying patrons. The property manager, Katie Dempsey, is rude and is not apt for this position. The fire alarm goes off repeatedly in the middle of the night and loud music is heard from the pool area at night and during exam weeks. Parking is not covered for everyone and the apartment gives off a sense of luxury that it does not have! DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! I am certain that my experience would have been soooo much better at a complex without study rooms and the look of luxury. I rented from fall 2016 through fall 2016. ...

Good location next to burgerking and jimmyjohns and right next to campus, but everything else is not worth nearly what I pay. I pay $700 a month for an average quality room, dangerous parking garage and non existent internet. I've never experienced internet this bad in my life, a motel in the middle of the jungle in Costa Rica had more reliable internet. I experience about .3-.5 download speed and about 30% packetloss. I can't watch Youtube videos unless they're available in 144p, then I still have to let them buffer. If you ever plan on using the internet here be prepared to buy your own or stay up to 5AM when no one else is using it like i've been forced to do. I rented from fall 10 through spring 11. ...

The only thing worth Living in grand marc for is Location. The location is great, right across the street from campus. (However due to the frequent J-walking, a fence may be getting put up, so be prepared to jump a fence). I've only swam in the pool once, and the smell reminded me of walking into a bait shop. The parking garage is dangerous. Low visibility, and people basically drift around the corners. The internet is by far the worst aspect. They advertise high speed internet. However, I disagree. Waiting for a video to load at grandmarc makes the waiting time at the DMV seem painless. Also, I live on the 2nd and I believe a pack of animals live on the floor above me. Location: For starters, I am in the basement which is on the ground level next to the street. There is nothing between the sidewalk and my window to protect me from possible intruders. It is located nice because it is close to campus, but in all other respects it is sketchy. Half of the time there are cops outside my window and the walls are so thin I can even hear what people are saying outside my window. My apartment: The Wifi SUCKS. I can't even Skype without it disconnecting in 5 minutes. It takes forever for anything to load and I've noticed more people have had to go out and buy their own routers...which is an expense we shouldn't have. The walls are so thin that when my roommates are sitting in the living room, I can hear everything from the tv at a low volume, to their phones buzzing. It makes it nearly impossible to study in my own room. The closet space is nice, but the drawers in the dressers are skinny and hardly fit four shirts folded (height wise). The pantry is TINY. With four people living in this space, there is next to no room for us to put our food. In the beginning of the school year, we also had a problem with ants. They were all over our floors, in our beds and when we asked the office people to have them take care of it, they said it was "ant season". Someone did come and spray apparently but I noticed almost no change until winter came. Security: There are videos in the hall ways and outside, but most of the doors on my side of the building are broken, which means anyone can just wander in. I've asked them to fix them and when they did it was only a matter of days before it was broken again. Miscellaneous: For some reason, the basement doesn't have carpeting like the other floors. Not really a big deal, just weird. There's also a door in the middle of the hallway that you need your key to get through--none of the other floors have this and it can be annoying when carrying stuff. (Again not that big of a deal, just a nuisance). Also, they say they have a printer, but it never works. If I ever have to print something, it has to be on their office printer. Staff: Over-all, the staff is the only good thing I have to talk about for GrancMarc. They are always friendly and willing to at least try and help you out with whatever issues you may be having. Maintenance requests are usually done on a moderately good manner. I rented from fall 10 through spring 11. ...

I would not recommend living here at all! I moved in during the summer and right away got tired of the fact that it took forever to get in and out of the building. "Security" is useless since half the locks for the garage doors are broken at all times and so anyone can get in. My door got broken into and when I called the office to send the "security guard" to come help us they hung on me and my roommates. When we went to the office staff their only reply was that "We're not responsible for your safety." and that it was useless to call them because they can't do anything anyway. I'll give them location cause it's great and it's nice to have your own spot though it is dangerous to drive up and down the garage and have had several close calls. Maintenance is another thing I will give them because Billy is awesome and was the only one that went out of his way to ask about me and my roommates after the door incident and even came out to fix our door at 3am and promised to stay in the building the rest of the night to be sure we were safe. The price though isn't worth it ($540 for a 4/2 and that's cause we got it cheap) and the internet and cable drops anytime there's a breeze. I rented from summer 10 through summer 11. ...

I'd agree with most of the negative reviews of GrandMarc. I actually lived here for 2 years (there was not an option below that read Summer '12). At first, I was so excited to live at GrandMarc. I did appreciate how close it was to campus, but it's definitely not in a safe area. Also, the security was pretty good (my parents were really concerned about it). Other than that, I wasn't happy. Treadmills were ALWAYS broken in the gym. I literally told them 10 times. Floors in the apartment were disgusting and my roommates and I were extremely clean. Apparently they are now in the process of ripping them out and replacing them. Facing Tennessee street was a nightmare. I was woken up twice a week in the middle of the night to the awful sound of the garbage truck picking up the dumpsters at BK and Jimmy Johns and then hearing them SLAM shut. I always heard people screaming outside and I was on the 4th floor. The staff was pretty incompetent. The parking garage was an absolute disaster. People sped around corners and I almost got into an accident once a week. It was poorly designed and way too narrow. Overall, living at GrandMarc wasn't worth it. I am now living in a different complex further from campus and couldn't be happier. Not to mention, I'm paying $200 less per month for a 1 bedroom apartment that is SO MUCH NICER than GrandMarc. Save yourself the aggravation and don't live here. I rented from fall 10 through summer 11. ...

I lived at Grand Marc for three years and I loved it. It's always kept clean, the maintenance requests are done by that day, and the staff is always super friendly. I felt safe, since everything requires a key to get it, it was always quiet, and I loved how private the pool was. They also provide study rooms for their residents that offers FREE COFFEE! I don't care what reviews you read, Grand Marc really is worth the money you pay. Security was a big issue with my parents and Grand Marc made them feel secure that their only child would be safe while away from home. I would highly recommend them. Sean, the manager is always willing to go above and beyond to make sure that whatever you need is taken care of right away and efficiently. SIGN WITH GRAND MARC! You won't regret it. They will nickel and dime you till the end. Tons of hidden fees. The apartments themselves are very nice, however the upper management makes you wish you never lived here. I've rented (and still am renting) here. I love it. I absolutely hate human beings. Well, only when I live with them. This place gave me the opportunity to have an Efficiency model all to myself. Although now I wish I got the single apartment for more sq feet, I still love it here. I use the gym all the time (could use more equipment), the parking is nice but corners are too tight and people drive too fast. That last part isn't GM's fault though. My one beef is that management takes forever to do something. Someone stole my floormat and I found it on another door on the same floor. I know it was mine because it was a one-of-a-kind. Management didn't do anything after I followed up a bunch of times. Also, its worth paying for the faster internet. Internet is slow as balls. I'd recommend it; 15 minutes from Union, 20 min from Strozier, and the added benefit of people thinking you're some sorta super star for having a Class A Apartment. It is also difficult to get food delivered to your door, but with JJ's right next to it and BK (slow as hell) as well, you won't go hungry. Just be careful when walking around Brevard when it gets dark...it's...on the fringes of civilization. But the two layers of security to get into a room makes me feel safe. Still worth keeping some protection though. 'Murica. I rented from fall 10 through spring 11. ...

i don't know what those people are talking about. I've lived here for 6 months and have found no problems. I love the gym and use it all the time because the FSU Leach is usually packed. I have found no problem with the internet other than finals week when absolutely everyone in the building is on it but other than that I'm not complaining. Place can get dusty though, before living here I didn't think I was allergic to anything outside of foods and now I'm highly allergic to dust. All and all I have found that there is no better place to live. Whenever I tell my friends that I live in Grand Marc they think its like a royal palace. It's definitely better than dorms and everything else that I have seen. Everyone is very nice and maintenance has never been an issue. I told the front desk that my microwave broke and within a day it was fixed. There is no better place to live in my opinion that is so close to campus. The price is a little steep though. Place is a joke. All these reviews are right. They cut costs with everything they can, while making you pay for everything extra. "We have high speed internet for free!" Yeah right, you can't even load youtube unless you pay the extra 20 a month. The parking garage sucks, they can't even tow a car in your designated spot if its too high in the garage. When you go on the tour they also don't show you what the real hallways look like. I take a girl back here after a party and she thinks she's in the middle of f***ing compton in the ghetto or something. Thank god I know enough lawyers that helped me out getting out of the contract. luxury student living my a**... everything in this place is s**t. they charge an insane amount of money for u to live here and everything is the lowest quality possible. all of my appliances break all the time and maintenance doesn't come until two days later. for example... my washing machine broke in the middle of washing my clothes two days ago ... just got fixxed today. meanwhile all of the clothes i was washing are ruined along with my bathroom floor because i had to hang the soaking wet and dripping load of laundry on my shower curtain so they would dry...' this place freakin sucks do NOT live here ...

Landlord- saw for the first time ever yesterday because I forgot to pay my rent and he threatened to evict me and was extremely rude Desk staff- rude and don't look at you when you're talking to them apartments- really dusty, stuff breaks, beds are SOO uncomforable (the matress is the blue dorm room style bed made of plastic) Overall- you're basically paying a s***load of money for a s***ty place... it may look nice and when I was getting ready to move here I was stoked! but the model is cleaned and dusted daily and the staff has to put on a happy face for you... I love being so close to campus! But, the parking garage here is really dangerous people speed adn the corners are really tight. Visitor parking sucks and cars in the visitor lot get broken into a lot. I am not renewing my lease because for the insane amount of money I pay to live here I do not feel like I am getting a very good deal. It also gets really dusty in the apartment if the AC unit is running. Internet is extremely slow as well. I think the best quality of this place is being able to walk to campus and I also believe it's the only good quality. I rented from fall 10 through spring 11. ...

Though this place is very clean and when you tour it seems liek the Taj Mahal of Tallahassee, it's not. Maintenance sucks and the desk along with the landlord don't care if there's a problem with your apartment. They advertise "high speed" wireless internet... it's not high speed. If you have a class with homework online... forget about it. I have to go to the library every time I have an online assignment because the speed of the internet here extends the amount of time I am working on the assignment by an hour because every time I try to load research or click next on My Math Lab it takes several minutes to load the next page or next question. Not to mention, the place is incredibly loud. If your located on the outer rim of the building like me (apartment facing Tennessee Street) forget about ever sleeping. Every Tuesday at 3 am the garbage truck stops by the BK, Jimmy Johns and A-Z Liquors that are 20 yards from our building and when picking up the dumpsters at these businesses it sounds like explosions going off right in the middle of the night. I live in a second floor apartment and have issues with the residents above and below me with noise. The apartment above me sounds like a herd of elephants stampeding every time the residents walk across their floor. Also, below me suprisingly is the worst problem. The bass from the music system of the apartment below me shakes my entire apartment and when my roommate and I have called, not exaggerating 18 times to maintenance (for middle of the night assistance), nothing has been done to control the problem. We have resorted to calling the Tallahassee Police Department to control the noise problems we experience because Grand Marc has done absolutely nothing to help. If you are smart you will not live here. It's extremely over priced and not at all worth the money. I rented from fall 10 through spring 11. ...
