BEWARE WATERFORD APARTMENTS IN ATHENS, GA. I rented a unit at Waterford for my son who attends UGA. Thankfully he was able to find a better apartment this year away from the homeless townies who frequently congregate in the parking lot area at night. I actually saw one inside a dumpster in the front parking lot; NOT a place you want to live! To top this great experience off, we just received our rental depost minus several incorrect and dishonest deductions. $10 for a missing receptical coverplate $15 for a gasoline surcharge (to pay for the maintenance man's gas to change the $10 coverplate) $15 for one hour of the maintenance man's labor to change the $10 coverplate $50 for 2 keys that were turned in, but now cannot be found. When I spoke with "Jennifer" the manager to review the charges she told me that the charges were final and exact; even though my son was not given the opportunity to review or sign her walk-through document. She also couldn't produce a receipt for the new $50 keys or the $10 coverplate. At the end of our call she refused to provide the name of any manager, or even her own last name for correspondence. Gee I wonder why? At the end of the day $90 was a small price to pay to get my son out of UGA's WORST and most dishonest apartment complex- bar none. I rented from spring '06 through spring '07. ...
