In short: I would not recommend this apartment complex. Pros: All appliances work, the dishwasher even cleans your dishes (unlike many dishwasher models I have experienced in Ames apartments). The maintenance people stop by promptly and fix everything the first time you ask. They also seem quite nice. Pet-friendly and had a washer/dryer in unit. Good sized walk-in closet. There is always a parking spot somewhere around the building. Dog poop-bags and trash cans conveniently located around buildings. Cons: Extremely poorly constructed. Noise-proofing is non-existant, far and away the worst I have ever experienced in Ames. You will be able to hear everything your neighbors do, including opening and closing cupboard doors, turning on/off faucets, turning on/off fans, etc, and your upstairs neighbors will rattle your lights with every step they take. The hallways often smell of urine because apparently not everyone's dog is house-trained. Tenants will also sometimes leave garbage or spills in the halls for the cleaning people to deal with. Toyota dealership is right across the street, if your apartment faces the Toyota lot you WILL need blackout curtains (maybe two sets). I rented from summer 2015 through summer 2015. ...

Simply terrible. I chose to rent here because the price was lower than other apartments, but I think after living here I would rather pay the extra money for a place that I feel safe. Maintenance doesn't get fixed for over a month, that is if you are lucky enough to get it fixed even at all. The apartments are decent for a college town, but the walls are paper thin so you hear your neighbors music, tv, and conversations all day and night. Some of the residence that live here are terrible, the cops are constantly at the complexes every weekend for partying and fights. Personally think this place is a waste of money, but that is all the managers look for is to make money off of this dump! Spend the extra money and live somewhere were you will be appreciated. ...

Simply terrible!!! You'd be better off to find a trailer to rent. This place is literally a place where all the management wants is to collect a rent check. "Maintenance" isn't staff or even a handyman, its a tenant trying to get a minuscule portion of his rent knocked off by working for management, and good luck getting them to show up in a timely fashion. The hallways are always filthy, and the stairwells are endlessly coated in trash, dog urine, and sometimes even dog fecal! Empty beer cans and cigarette boxes are going to be your lawn decorations year round if not something worse! To put it into a little more perspective of your potential neighbors, the hallway has two, not just one, but two holes punched in the drywall from two different nights. I doubt they'll ever get repaired! The neighbors with animals are downright irresponsible too! I have had my dog almost attacked numerous times because people don't put their animals on leashes or socialize them in any way. The dog park is down the street, but you also get the fumes from all the dog fecal from there in the summer too! The price is horrendous! Your lease can change with the wind, although I'm sure its not legal. Bottom line, rent from these fools and prepare to spend your year with noise, mold, mildew, stench, danger, theft, disarray, and an endless amount of headaches. Hope you can afford rent and aspirin!! Don't live here! Management is totally clueless, takes multiple trips to their office IN PERSON to get any maintenance done.
