I don't have too many complaints about Mason Properties, really except for maintenance and parking. The maintenance staff is really friendly from what I can tell by talking to them but it may sometimes take weeks after you put in a work order for it to be addressed (for example, our lock was sticking and we would often stand outside for 5 minutes just trying to open our lock in below freezing weather. Mason did nothing until they tried to access the apartment a few weeks later for another repair and could not get into the apartment-- they thought we had a deadbolt! After we explained to them THAT was the work order we had put in weeks ago, they responded, "Oh, we didn't know it was that bad," and fixed it the next day.) We've had to have the lock "unstuck" at least 3 times in addition to our cheap front door mini blinds repaired (they are so cheap that they sometimes fall off when closing the door). As for parking, there are not enough parking spaces for every tenant. If you get back especially late, be prepared to park in the nearby Yellow Lot and get up at 7 am to move your vehicle so that you don't get ticketed. This is a particular annoyance on nights when it's obvious someone is having a party. Other than that, it's a great location and it only takes about 10 minutes to get to get to Holmes Student Center. It's right next to Chipotle and Starbucks and you can cut straight through Gabel Hall to get to the Field House to work out. I've never experienced issues with bugs (aside from the occasional spider because I live in the basement) or vermin. I'm actually renting from Fall 2007 to Summer 2009 but 2009 isn't yet an option in the drop down menu? We split the rent and utilities. I rented from fall '07 through summer '08. ...
