I have been a tenant now for little over 4 months, and to be honest this has been the worst renting experience in 20 years. Recently I moved to the Indianapolis, Indiana region. As most, I started my apartment renting research by hitting the Internet; if only to gain a better idea of the surrounding Indianapolis, Indiana region. Now to initially read most of the written reviews, from multiple apartment guide sites, I wholly believed the 5 star ratings and best apartment contexts. I was sorely mistaken, and regret making such a decision to have signed a 12 month lease. Upon moving day, I quickly inspected the apartment only to find dirty and spotted carpets, dirty windows and blinds, as well as two rather large urine stains, which I only presume from prior renter's pets, that made the apartment smell foul. Now mind you the apartment complex offered to clean the carpets, which should have transpired prior to move in, however, it took two cleanings before the odor was gone. I suggested full carpet replacement, only because the urine had been absorbed within the carpets padding below; the complex declined such a notion. I would like to note, other apartment complexes have more than graciously acknowledged this idea, and have replaced the carpet: NOT THIS ONE....this was disgusting to me. Also, I am slowly finding out that the apartment lease should have been read with great scrutiny. They are quite inflexible, and will most definitely nickel and dime any renter to death. Considering the area and the condition of the apartments, it is NOT worth the rent they expect. I warn any future tenant possibly considering renting from this complex, read the lease with great caution and beware of the fine print. I rented from fall '07 through fall '08. ...
