The service I recieved from Chris was greatly appreciated. I was shown a 2 bedroom and 1 bedroom in which after approval I decided upon the 1 bedroom. I was able to view the 1 bedroom several times as I was honestly uncertain of due to previous online reviews AND conversations with current tenants, but at second showing stove and fridge had been removed from wall and I was told it was due to changing or upgrade of stove from glass top to another, which after signing lease they had not. I took pictures of apt. at that time to send to family and have for decoration ideas as I felt I had made my decision upon unit. During the course of the week I informed office staff that I would not get apt directly but called back approximately 11 days afterwards to proceed with process and was informed I’d receive another discount as well that was being offered and emailed lease that I signed on a Tuesday after viewing again and gave request for minimal repairs to be done in which I received a email and verbal confirmation stating they were and paid fees to move in on Friday evening of same week and received keys to apt at that time. I entered the apartment Saturday with high hopes and ready to clean myself and moved fridge and stove to sweep/mop to find a substantial amount of mold on outside of cabinet that faces stove, I immediately notified office staff associate in which he responded that he would have maintenance look at to see what it may be! I told him at that time it in fact was “ mold”. It bothered me that I would be living in a environment with a child and that there is a history of Asthma/ immunity issues among us as well. I emailed office again about it and other concerns and was told maintenance would assess issues the next following day. After verbal communication about what I know is mold/fungi I made aware staff the same day I wanted to terminate my lease that day .I was later told by Head Office Manager it was “microbial and everywhere you go” and that I did not give maintenance a chance to do necessary ”repairs” and that a time was given for it to be done following day. Isn’t a apartment supposed to be ready for tenant prior to move in? Especially if concerns are made known previously and tenant is told maintenance has indeed assessed, repaired issue? However, I don’t see green mold/fungi/ microbial a quick fix and while situation may be addressed in lease that there may be some mold present and that it should be treated by tenant or made known to maintenance/ office staff, it should also be acceptable that a person with certain health concerns , conditions or risk should not be held liable to a “ wait and see if this helps” bandage. Meanwhile, I am told I will be charged a 2month buy out AS WELL as a 60 day termination fee for a apt I signed a lease for on November 14, 2023, paid leasing requirements November 18, 2023 and requested a termination of lease for November 20, 2023 and I did NOT move in ANYTHING nor stay one night in unit. Regardless of what a credit score may be, discounts or specials, this may be business to some but it is TRULY INHUMANE at best. ...

The absolute most unprofessional, unruly, disrespectful company with no sense of civility. I signed my lease back in May through an agency and from the very beginning things have gotten worse than better. My leasing agent was the most helpful aspect of this process but has since resigned, as well as three other individuals. The ghetto and deceitful property "managers" signed off on my apartment being ok to move in, that was a lie and the circumstances in which they signed my agreement with a local government agency was unfair, deceptive and fraudulent. I have delivered 4 cease and desist notices to these individuals who refuse to stop harassing me in management. I have had to report several egregious violations to the appropriate agencies just to begin the process of holding this company accountable. Let's not even talking about the roaches, I'm not sure what's worst, the pest or being pestered by management. I also suffer from PTSD and it has been so uncomfortable and unbearable to enjoy my peace of enjoyment. Sterling Glenwood, with the help of Shante and Kim have failed to *Comply with building or housing codes * Maintain the premises in a fit and habitable condition * Keep all common areas in a safe condition * Maintain all facilities and appliances supplied in good and safe working order * Comply with another federal, state or local housing law Above all of this, several tenants have vacated their property due to the unprofessional behavior, the pest infestation, and the frequent harassment by management. I have also been subjected to racial profiling by other tenants and management failed to address it. I do not recommend to even the roaches that are crawling all over the place. Kim or Kimberly, whichever she wants to go (this is how she addressed me disrespectfully) by accused me of vandalism the property, slandering my name to Raleigh Coding Inspection and she will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law for that. Shante will also make false accusations about you, in hopes of creating a problem to write you a lease violation. I have initiated litigation and am awaiting for justice to prevail holding them accountable. ...
