We have been renting our apartment for almost a year. So far it is not too bad, though no apartment complex is perfect. To compare with the previous apartment we were renting, I can tell that Candlelight is a good place to live, but it could be better. Better in many ways, like quality of buildings. The walls are so thin, that we can here details of personal lives of our neighbours that we should not hear. Or, people just ought to be more respectful to people around them, and to follow rules of social places like apartments. Since the price is not too high in comparison with other apartments, people with less income live here, with lower or no education at all, and it explains a lot by their disrespectful and careless attitude. The same I can tell about the office. Typical New Mexico attitude to the tenants. In other words, the management is so comfortable in the office, and when some of the tenants have real concerns inside of the complex, nobody does anything about it. The way people treat each other is absolutely abnormal. Laundry room is a good example: to do laundry you have to pay, and accordingly you expect your clothes to be washed thoroughly. But, the management has a different approach to that: in order to save they fixed washing machines not to use enough water, I should say use almost no water. When you are done with the laundry, you find out that your clothes are partly dry, and the rest of it is not washed properly. This is because the size of the machine doesn't match the amount of water. I can see the attitude to people through all those little details others may not think about. I ask myself why people hate others to the point when being angry they scratch their neighbors' cars?... No apartment complex is perfect, there are always things you are not pleased with. The less you pay for rent, the more problems you will face. I rented from summer '08 through winter '09. ...

I have been renting a unit here for almost 2 years. I will be moving out of state and free of this place shortly. I've had never ending problems since the day I moved in. Small problems like the shelves in my closet falling to large problems like my fridge breaking and growing mold in the insulation. I also had to have my balcony removed because it couldn't support any use. All problems and resulting issues were directly related to the response of management. I was forced to live with the moldy fridge for 2 weeks until you could smell the stench before you entered the apartment. Maintenance staff came to look at it and left a helpful note for me to put some baking soda in there. I guess they missed the four boxes already in there or the industrial sized bleach from where I tried to clean it. My balcony had been in sorry shape since I moved in. The gutters are broken and dump water onto it which caused it to rot and parts of it to fall onto the unit below me. The tenants below complained for a year and maintenance would come out and stucco over the damage but not fix the problem...They also didn't inform me there WAS a problem. After a year I got a panicked phone call telling me not to use the balcony "for my safety." The entire balcony was removed and replaced. The gutters are STILL not fixed. I know another tenant whose bathroom ceiling collapsed. She had been reporting a leak in the ceiling for 4 months and no one fixed it. They also had the pleasure of living below tenants who would throw beer bottles off their balcony at 3:00 AM. You guessed it, no reprimand for the bottle throwers. They have poor cooling systems also. When they finally turn them on, that is. It's 78 degrees right now in my unit and the coolers won't be turned on for another 2 1/2 weeks. The management is not concerned with the comfort or safety of the residents, nor do they seem to care all the much period. Neighbors are loud and disrespectful, and they do nothing. Units are constantly being repaired just enough to cover their asses. You should be able to consider where you live your home. And I have never been so miserable in my home. Plus I get to pay more every time I sign a lease for that privilege. I rented from summer '06 through summer '08. ...
