This apartment complex will rip you off! When you first move in, everything seems great. Then once you decide to not release there, the management will charge you will excessive charges for ridiculous items! We were told that the carpet had to be professionally cleaned. We followed their "rules" about hiring a carpet cleaner, but chose not to use the one that they recommended. When the poor guy came to clean the apartment, one of the female workers from the office came and YELLED at him saying that he wasn't a professional and that he wasn't doing it right. After that nightmare, when the management came to "inspect" our apartment, they said that we had to have it re-cleaned because there was DUST on some light fixtures, and that our carpet had to be replaced and that they were going to keep the deposit to cover it. Hoping to be done with this place, we paid the extra amount to have it re-cleaned. We specifically asked them that after we paid this, and they take our deposit for the carpet, if we would be completely done and their response was "Yes." My roommates and I moved out towards the end of July and not even a week ago, all 3 of us received a letter stating MORE charges that they're giving us. One of the charges was for 4 LIGHT BULBS (none of the light bulbs were burnt out or broken when we moved out), and a PLUNGER. They never equipped the apartment with a plunger when we moved in. When my roommate questioned about this plunger charge, they responded with, "Well why didn't you write down on the inventory check list when you first moved in that there wasn't one?" Umm, how are we supposed to know that the apartment came with one?? Another ridiculous item we are being charged for is carpet cleaning! Why would we have the carpet cleaned AGAIN when we were told that our deposit would be going towards replacing it?!? We never authorized a second carpet cleaning. The management staff came into our apartment WITHOUT getting a consent to do so DURING our lease to take pictures of it to "prove" items were damaged, but tampered with the photos to make the carpet look dark and "unlivable." Tell you friends, family, everyone you know that this is NOT a good place to live!!! I rented from fall '09 through summer 10. ...

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! They own the Pavilions at University, too. They engage in bait and switch on new renters; I was promised an apartment and then a day later, was told I could only have it if I paid the first month's rent (in addition to a $300 security deposit, twice the average deposit in New Mexico)two weeks in advance of move-in, something I've never been asked in more than 20 years of renting apartments. They are overpriced for the cheap construction that is constantly falling apart. No microwave, not even a medicine cabinet, and the blinds and appliances are so cheap they must have come from a Wal-Mart reject outlet. The management is dishonest and harasses tenants over the smallest perceived "violations" of the endless list of complex rules. If you want to feel like you're a 2-year-old living at home with Mom and Dad and paying a bundle for the privilege, this is the place for you. ...
