Current Resident

I'm very excited to live there. The staff has been so nice and helpful while I was completing my application. Because of them I was able to get everything done on time and correctly. The apartment is very nice.

DO NOT LIVE HERE. Notice that most of the good reviews are from 2+ years ago. The place itself is fairly nice, but the management is horrible. They've changed management at least twice since I've lived here. I lived in Summerwood for almost two years and at the beginning of spring break, they emailed me and my roommates that we had 2 weeks to move out because they were going to do renovations and expand the gym into our apartment. This was like a month before finals and so I had to find a new place to move in a week (because I was gone the first week over spring break). Needless to say I was extremely stressed and exhausted and the management was unapolagetic and unhelpful. Other events that occurred during my living there were that my shower was ALWAYS clogged, our heater was broken, and no matter how many times I asked for maintenance to help, my shower remained clogged and yes, I used drano mannnyyyy times. The only pros to living here are the closeness to campus and a washer and dryer unit in the apartment. So not worth the rent and so not worth the scams they're gonna try to pull on you. THREATENED TO CHARGE ME $100 FOR THIS REVIEW! 0 STARS! Terrible place to live and management is even worse. Have you move on finals day while your roommate have longer to move, thinks are constantly broken and take fixing, moved in and several things were broken within the room (drawers, doors, walls peeling, etc.) and I took out several garbage bags of the previous tenants' clothes and trash out, super loud since you are right up against the freeway. Great place to live!!! Right across the street from UVU!! Fun management that will help you out when there is a problem. I would highly recommend Summerwood Condos!!!! I rented from winter 2017 through winter 2017.

Filthy place - Clean it up and they still charge you cleaning fee's. It is all a racket and they just want money from college students. Look at all the other reviews from others being charged for no reason. You call and they make up things that weren't done at moving out and don't care to hear complaint. We reported mold several times which under Utah law, 57-22-3(1) they are responsible to maintain the condition fit for human habitation, which mold is a BIG health risk and causes health problems. They are also required to respond and take care of the issue within 24 hours and they failed to do so. Looks like we'll be reporting it to the Health Department and we'll let them handle it because when its health hazard, that shouldn't slide under the radar. "There is an automatic $50 fail fee plus $20 an hour to have someone else come clean. The policy needs to change because it isn't fair to former residents and it seems like they are just milking every last penny out of us" "And these people had the nerve to then charge a 50 dollar fee for failing the cleaning check and an additional 17 for someone to come in and do the cleaning" "The furniture was dirty and we had to purchase covers. I helped my daughter clean and it was cleaner than when we she moved in and yet they deducted $50 for a cleaning fail and $35 for cleaning time...I wonder how this could even be determined for ONE bedroom since she is the only one from her unit who moved out?" Hated my time here. I hated my roommates, I didn't have AC, even though I asked them to fix it A MILLION TIMES!!!! There's also a 25$ late fee basically everyday that it's late when you miss rent. Awesome right? The maintenance guy is awesome though. Kudos to him! He's the only cool thing about that apartment complex. I rented from fall 10 through spring 11. ...

This place is highly decent. There are monthly activities, the workers are friendly and remember your name, and it's close to uvu. My only complaint is that it's too close to the freeway. The freeway is noisy, especially with your window open. So if your apartment is in the back of the building, expect your apartment to be stuffy or noisy 80% of each day. And if you want to get some sleep during the day or any time after 8am, you can count on it being a loud sleep session. I rented from spring 11 through fall 11. ...

The worst place you can go! Management is awful and very unprofessional. One of my roommates had mice and it took nearly two weeks for management to make any pro-cautions of it. Later they forced my entire apartment to get new carpet for the new people moving in in the summer. No one new was moving in to our apartment. But yet during the middle of the week they had us all move everything we owned out. They don't care at all about their residents. Moving here was the worst decision I ever made. Overall I think its a great place to live. I wouldn't changed mind if I had the option to live here again, but there are some negatives. A lot of the reviews I have read talk about fees for stuff, I have never had a fee for anything. All I am charged is my rent and utilities. That's it. Parking sucks if you come late at night and in the winter it's dreadful since many spots are uncovered, so when it snows nobody parks in the uncovered ones. I feel like if I pay for a spot in a covered garage I should have a spot every night. Another complaint I saw was about cleaning checks. Cleaning checks are easy, all you do is clean. If you can't handle that, then you should ask your Mom because she clearly does everything for you. Anytime I have has a problem, or maintenance of any kind, it is handled quickly and handled well. Our garbage disposal has stopped working and the next day, someone came by to fix it. I do feel like the apartments are a tad overpriced though also. I rented from fall 10 through winter 11. ...

I have been living here for three months now in 2013 and I feel like I have been screwed over. They charge me fee's for things that I did not agree to. Their maintenance does not ever fix anything. They are so strict on cleaning checks that it is nearly impossible to pass. The second my agreement is up I am moving out of here. I do not recommend that anyone signs an agreement with them. Summerwoods is one of the worst places to live! They don't care about their residents they only care about money. They charge you for a new parking pass every semester, and they will fail you on cleaning checks even if you spend 2 days cleaning. They only do this so they can charge you the 15 dollars. I've also had problems with them charging me the cleaning check fine even when I passed. Our air conditioning broke in the middle of July and it took 2 weeks of us calling them for them to finally get it fixed. The management is so horrible. I lived her from fall 2012 to the end of this summer (2013) I really liked this apartment complex. I have lived in two different apartments this year at summerwood and both have been very nice, the carpets are new, the house was clean when I moved in etc. The reason that I gave this an average rating on the price is because it is just that, average, the rates are not overly expensive however you don't look at the prices and think that is a good deal. The social life at summerwood is fantastic. There are lots of different social activities head up by summerwood condos. They even have two people on staff to plan parties period. Some events that they did this past year was a barbaque, a vinyl record art night, and a texas road house meal. I can not say enough about the management. They are friendly in the office. I have forgotten my keys multiple times and they have always let me in free of charge. They are well informed and even if it is not office hours you can usually find the maintenance guy (who is the main person in the office as well) working around the complex. They are very on top of things and I have had only positive experiences with them. The parking is covered, under the building. There are parking passes required however a lot of times they will give it to you for free if you sign your contract a certain amount of time in advance. this is not a safe place to live. Maybe for guys it would be ok but as girl I am not comfortable living here, I even sold my contract to move somewhere else which was a real hassel but was worth it. I rented from fall 11 through fall 11.

I was really good to have under ground parking in the winter when it snows. The location was great. Very close to UVU, you can just walk there everyday. The manager was very nice and tried to help all the time. It was also great to have washer/dryer in your apartment. Over all it was a great place to live. However!!! Live here basically means you will have NO social life. I personally don't like those people who live here. If you want to have a social life and meet people, don't live here!!! Apartment was very dirty and gross looking, but the show room was amazing...Our dishwasher was broken and took over 2 months for management to fix. The day after I threatened to stop paying rent it was magically fixed. Room mates did drugs and drank all the time, stuff was stolen, police came, neighbors complained and management still didn't do anything so I moved out and they still made me pay rent until my contract ended, EVEN THO THEY BROKE THEIR END OF THE CONTRACT and kept my deposit.
