Currently called the Estates at Brentwood, this complex is a huge disappointment. Please do not be fooled by the curb appeal. My boyfriend and I lived in a two bedroom for one year and could not wait to leave at the end of our lease. The air conditioning and heat all go to one bedroom leaving the rest of the place too hot or cold. When we asked about this, the maintenance informed us it was just how all the apartments were built.... Additionally, there are so many air leaks around the doors and windows that our electricity bills were rarely under $100, even reaching $200 in the winter. We were not impressed by maintenance, either. They were not very efficient (it took them 3 tries to fix our toilet and were slow to respond to requests) and did not seem very knowledgeable. If you have multiple pets, be prepared to pay a pet fee of $350 PER PET, none of which is refundable, plus pet rent every month. The fact that it is a gated community was very attractive to us initially. The gates, however, were constantly broken and stood open more often than not. Another amenity that turned out to be a disappointment was the fitness center. Not only is it too small for the size of the complex, the equipment is not maintained properly either. One of the two treadmills broke in October of 2008 and was still there when we moved out a year later. It was never replaced. Other equipment would break frequently and would not be repaired for weeks or even months. The complex is currently managed by Merion Realty Management, a seemingly ambiguous company that you will not be able to contact of needed. Upon asking the office staff for an address or phone number, we were told they were not allowed to give that information to residents. Seriously, residents can't contact the management company if they need to. Does that sound legal to you?? I am not someone who normally reads or writes these kind of reviews, but I strongly advise against moving into this complex. It is not worth the rent or the frustration. I rented from fall '08 through fall '09. ...
