I'm writing this in hopes that I can provide clarity to prospective tenants to be helpful. I can only speak to MY experience and MY opinion, which were not good ones. I was EXTREMELY UNSATISFIED. In terms of the apt: #1) Walls are PAPER THIN (so thin I can hear the iPhone alarms of the tenant above and next to my apt unit), #2) Kitchen appliances are cheap (dishwasher HORRIBLE!, electric cooktop HORRIBLE!), #3) Kitchen is shoddy construction with extreme gaps counter-to-countertop, meaning crumbs/food while cooking end up in an abyss you can't access + floorboards in kitchen floor weren't glued/secured shut #4) Patio doors/front door have gaps to floor, meaning an insane amount of little bugs enter the apt + "patio doors" include only door that opens aka not "patio doors", #5) Overall design of the apartment is laughable (for example, lights to the bathroom are in the hallway NOT the bathroom, + barely any convenient outlets in any room #6) Bathroom tub/appliances are plastic or similar (NOT ceramic) ensuring they pick up anything/everything making even simple cleaning difficult #7) Electric fan, air conditioning and light switches installed horribly (fan switches difficult to turn on/off, light switches placed in areas not specific to output, air conditioning unit does not follow usual "Auto" settings meaning it runs forever racking up a large bill, #8) Outdoorhallways are disgusting, and their fans don't work & are extremely loud, bugs everywhere, a total mess constantly. In terms of the facilities: #1) "Clubhouse" is useless, kitchen has no use (at a bare minimum not even cups for water are available and "coffee machine" advertised doesn't exist, and staff made it clear it was only for prospective tenants not current, yet it's advertised and communicated in tours as an amenity yet staff used in over and over again everyday), furthermore NO FULL-COVERAGE-WIFI, the wifi only extends from the front desk to the office computers, only a few feet away from front desk (although the clubhouse is a massive (and beautiful) common area), DON'T expect to be able to use you computer or work without connecting to your own hotspot unless you'd like to sit as close to the front desk as possible, defeating the purpose of a common area #2) There is one conference room which is unmonitored, for example, the same person during my tenure occupied the room almost everyday from 6am to 5pm and management doesn't provide the ability to reserve it in advance meaning you have a slim chance of using it.# 3) You pay $$$ for trash pick-up, which unfortunately isn't picked up on time (on-occassion) and for what they charge that's unacceptable #4) Parking/ pool/grounds/outdoors = no complaints, great #5) Gym = great (except management never stocks enough sanitizer). In terms of management, #1) Billing is a disaster, they switched payment platforms twice during my tenure, both being sub-par. #2) Questions about billing? Don't expect the front desk to be helpful, just expect serious attitude, not a "can do" attitude #3) Questions about where to send a package to a tenant that was incorrectly delivered to your door? Don't expect help, they'll tell you to find the tenant and their Apt# yourself, #4) Need help from facilities to assist with an unclogged drain or issues with your apartment? Expect DAYS to receive a response. I've never dealt with a management team/front desk team so unhelpful. They severely lack any sense of proactivity, and are reactive at best (and slow at reacting nonetheless). Finally, want to be able to easily move-in and out? Expect to have to to park your uHaul or moving truck company far far away from your apartment, meaning you have to walk boxes, furniture etc. across the entire parking lot as to not effect the parking of other tenants. Overall, the apartment amenities are cheap and crap IMO, the facilities are not managed well and don't operate as advertised (ie: WiFi in clubhouse), and those responsible to help you couldn't care less. I've lived in many apartments, and have never experienced anything like the one at Iron Horse. I wouldn't refer any of my friends or family here. ...
