As a student, this apartment was acceptable--I wouldn't have been happy living there otherwise. The insides of the apartments are as expected for an older (if refurbished) complex; the kitchens are too small, and the walls are impossibly thin. That's
not a huge issue for the most part, given that most of the residents are much older. It's pretty much a bunch of students and retirees (though I rarely saw any of the other residents, so it's possible that there were lots of 20-somethings in the woodwork). There is a pool, but it's surrounded on all sides by apartments, so you feel the need to be awkwardly quiet. Other than that, you should be prepared for leaf blowers at 8 am every day in the spring and for landscapers/pool cleaners fumbling around every other day. There are also the usual management complaints--they're fine until you actually need something. They're very nice in passing but a bit cold if you actually need something. They also don't make any effort to amend problems beyond the resolution itself, even when they admit direct responsibility. So in summary, it has four walls and a roof for a decent price. If you're not looking for much more, you should be fine here for a while.
I rented from fall '06 through spring '07.
