At first Mack Park seemed fine. I had a tree in front of my apartment and it dropped sap all over the cars and sidewalk. That would all get tracked into the apartment and made the carpet all gross. Eventually the tree died and they removed it, but I'm
still sure I will get charged for the carpet. After 2 years my rent was increased from $595 to $665 (for a 1bdrm).
Everything was okay until recently though. Somehow I was short $8 on my rent, completely an accident. I paid 10 days before rent was due and 4 days after rent was due I receive a phone call saying I now have a late fee of $50. Why they didn't make me aware of this I do not know. (BTW for the record, I have NEVER paid late!)
Then just recently they have begun enforcing parking passes. If you lose your little sticker, it is $100 to replace it. There is a very small visitor parking section now, in front of the office, which this is always FULL!! I decided to get the temporary visitor's pass for my girlfriend so she doesn't have to walk across the complex. The one I got expired so I decided to get another one. Couple hours later I receive a phone call saying I am breaking my lease and need to put her on it. She does not stay the night, comes over 2-3 times a week and goes home. (Also in front of my apt there is plenty of space). So in other words, if you have friends you would like to have come over, tough shit.
I understand apartment complexes have parking rules, but have enough parking for visitors and have it spread throughout the location.
Good renter is being ran out. I can't wait for my lease to be up. I do not recommend this place to anyone. There are cheaper locations, which I have already located, that take better care of their complex and their renters.
I rented from winter '07 through fall '09.

Roaches as big as elephants. Plus the water and electric bills are overpriced since they average by building and not by apartment. We lived under a guy that was either building a swimming pool or growing a hydroponic wonderland because our bills were
through the roof even though me and my roomate worked or were in school most of the time and never had the heat above 68 or the AC below 80. Plus they rent out to some seriously scary people. I came home and found the Denton SWAT team blocking off the street. Not a place for single women or the easily scared.
I rented from summer '05 through spring '06.
