When I originally signed my lease here at Legacy, the Business Manager, Vanessa practically begged me to write a good review for this place. I decided to wait a few months to make sure all went well before I did so. Boy am I glad I did! First, PARKING is a HUGE issue! The management at Legacy even knows it's an issue and use that fact to UP SELL you additional parking space for garages and carports (all extra fees). Carports at other nearby apartments are included in the rent (and the monthly rent is even cheaper), but here you have to pay extra for it. Plus, many residents own multiple cars, combined with guests who take prime parking spaces while residents have to trek across the large complex with their groceries and children in tow. There are many things to do in the neighborhood, but as a resident, we are forced to stay in, due to the fact that if we leave after 7pm, we will not have a place to park our car when we return. When you decide to lease here, they will brag that they are at 95% capacity and therefore you should add the rental of a carport or garage to your lease so you dont have parking issues. But the fact is, if they restricted guest parking, provided parking for their own residents, and limited the # of cars owned by resident, they wouldn't have this issue. I wont be renewing my lease due to the overwhelming parking situation alone (it really is that bad), but there's more! Maintenance is a joke! First, I moved in during September. At the time of move in, I noted a repair issue. I was told it would be repaired the next week after my move in. I have since submitted the same repair 2 more times via the online portal. It was finally fixed in March, after I sent a direct email to Vanessa who said she would find out what happened. In addition, when I moved in, I explained that I need advanced notice of any entry into my apartment due to the fact that I have dogs that must be secured prior. After one of my dogs ran out the door one day when I opened it for an unexpected maintenance person, I went to the office to speak with Vanessa about it. She stated that she would note in my account that no one is to enter without an appointment. However, 5 times since then, I have had maintenance in my apartment without an appointment. Never has anyone made an appointment with me. NOT ONCE! Next, before I could sign my lease, I had to have it re-written 3 times. This was due to errors by Bebe, the leasing agent. These errors were pointed out by ME... she didn't even catch her own mistakes. Had I let them go, it would have saved me a lot of money, but I'm an honest person. Still, it was extremely frustrating. Few apartment complexes are truly secure. But this one doesn't even try. There isn't a security guard on duty and the front entrance gate has not been closed since I moved in and the side gate is often broken. Anyone can come and go. While I am only aware of a couple of car break-ins during my residency, I'm sure better security measures could help prevent some mischief. The windows and walls are very thin. Not only can I hear the baby crying in the apartment below me and the neighbors music beside me, I also hear the garage doors open and close three stories down. The sound of traffic driving through the complex and the extremely loud traffic on the freeway (635) come through the windows as if they are open. When I first moved in, I double checked all of the windows because I thought they were open. The noise is that loud. I'm still not used to it. The neighborhood is the best thing going for this apartment complex. The location is near to shopping, restaurants, entertainment, parks and trails. Although, the traffic on MacArthur becomes a nightmare daily in the afternoons. After checking out other apartments in the area, I realize I picked the wrong one for me. Rent is lower with better options elsewhere in this neighborhood and according to this and other websites, they also have better reviews. Consider all of your options and read all reviews! I rented from fall 2016 through summer 2017. ...
