Everyone knows that finding a decent place in Provo can be hard, but I honestly feel like I need to warn people about the horrible experience that this complex is. From the beginning of my stay at brookview, the management (if you can call it that) has been absolutely unprofessional. They constantly make excuses to avoid any professional responsibility and refuse to acknowledge their own wrong-doing. In my less than a year at Brookview: our fridge was broken for 2 weeks, the air conditioning in the whole complex broke in the middle of summer, our roof leaked consistently for months with bandaid repairs that fixed nothing, and the wifi was so incredibly bad that it couldn't even load email. And if you dare try to submit a work order you're lucky if it's addressed with an actual solution. If you are trying to do online school in any capacity you'll have much better luck using mcdonald's public wifi. Also, know that you will not receive very much of your security deposit back at all. You'll pay $300, but the absolute maximum you can get back is $150 and that's not including the utilities, bull cleaning fees, and the β€œcommunications fee” (whatever that means Γ°ΕΈβ„’β€ž). If you're looking for a sign that this might not be the right apartment, this is it. Avoid the irresponsibility, hidden fees, lack of accountability, dilapidated living conditions, and the horrifying amenities. You've been warned!!! I rented from fall 2019 through summer 2020. ...

I had great roommates and good friends, that was the only benefit of living here. Mostly it's too expensive. There are plenty of places off 9th East much more reasonably priced. My roomies stuff started molding, and maintenance left bleach footprints on his pillowcase. To be fair, they did lower rent that month. The faucet in the one bathroom (for six people) never really worked. Maintenance came probably six or seven times to get it to stop leaking, (they took their sweet time, it'd hold for a week and start again. At one point the water just wouldn't stop at all, it's a miracle they did something about it before the whole place flooded. Our stove-top has never really worked properly, the one time they tried fixing it they broke the back part with the knobs, and it still didn't work. The blinds are installed backwards. The laundry mat has had a quarter of the dryers out of order for the past 6 months. The laundry only takes quarters, and is more expensive than most mats. One dryer also sounds like it is going to outer-space, and it's on the second floor (it took me two days to find it, granted I didn't try too hard). I never had a parking pass, but I think the street is safer for your car anyway, there are pot holes that are massive. The dishwasher is unusable/it is not hooked up to water. The basketball hoop (not court) is sandwiched between two parked cars, and is bent, without a net. Find somewhere else. I rented from fall 2017 through winter 2018. ...

The quality of a lot of these apartments are pretty poor, but I gave it a three because they're currently renovating, and most of the renovations look decent. I'm not sure though, since mine hasn't been yet. The price is pretty good, though I would say probably not quite worth the quality. Year-long for me was less than $250 per month, which I'm not complaining about at all. But the size of the apartment is pretty small, which isn't great for me. Location is pretty great for BYU students. Really close to campus, and literally right across the street from a park and a BYU Shuttle stop. Not too shabby. Not great for me, since I'm a UVU student, but I moved in for a friend, so there's that. Social atmosphere is good, but not really as friendly as other student wards I've been in. I feel like people are friendly, but tend to keep to themselves. It can be kinda frustrating sometimes. Management is great! The couple who manage are really nice and try their best to work out your issues the best they can. They're pretty lenient with cleaning checks (if you ask me), but some people seem to think they're unfair? I dunno. Anyway, managements great. Maintenance is fairly prompt, but it can be kinda difficult to communicate sometimes as the boss-dude doesn't speak english well. But he's really nice and gets the job done. I'm just gonna say, parking blows. The parking here is awful. 0 stars. And I don't know that it can really be blamed on anyone in particular. But the lot is puny, and it's really hard to find parking sometimes (especially if you get back late). Some of my roommates have had to park two blocks away. :/ So, yeah. I rented from fall 2016 through summer 2017. ...

If you can live somewhere else go somewhere else. The social life here is not good. They mostly keep to themselves. The apartments are total junk heaps. The management ripped me off. The only somewhat redeeming quality is it's cheep. I rented from fall 2014 through winter 2015. ...

Disclaimer: I lived here during Spring/Summer, so obviously parking was super easy. I don't know how it is during Fall/Winter. My apartment (5) was pretty crappy. The linoleum floor in the kitchen was cracked and coming up in some places. The kitchen sink was rusty and stained. Pretty gross. The freezer leaked and kept filling up one of the fridge drawers, drowning our food. The bathroom was pretty nasty too. The tub kept getting clogged and it was also stained. The shower head was also like 5 feet high, so unless you're shorter than that it can get pretty annoying. The bedrooms were TINY, and we were only provided crappy, broken down desks that looked like they were picked up off the side of the road. I'm not even exaggerating. Same with the chairs. There was absolutely no consistency. Also, my roommate and I only got one desk and chair. Plus the tiny room. It was pretty ridiculous. Residents take care of internet themselves. I'm pretty sure we had DirecTv, which was nice. The only redeeming quality was the manager, Kimberly. She was nice and she and her husband were always putting on apartment-wide activities. Cleaning checks were a breeze. The ward was nice, but a little awkward. Imagine a bunch of newborn deer, trying to stand on their own as they stumble towards one another in newfound, uncomfortable interaction. Something like that. Also, I paid like $115 rent + utilities (like maybe around $50, which was ridiculous seeing as there were five of us in the apt and we were basically NEVER HOME). Plus they charge like a $15 convenience fee for using a credit card, which is stupid. Overall, Brookview is a sucky place. But, if you're looking for cheap, this may float your awkward, sinking boat. I rented from spring 2015 through summer 2015. ...

I liked it here. They have new management, and they are working really hard to fix the place up from the place described in earlier reviews. Management is super fast at getting back to you, and utilities are pretty cheap. I would suggest renting here. I was here for the fall 2012 semester. ...

TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT!! Nasty dirty apartments. Nothing ever works, utilities are cheap in summer and WAY expensive in the Winter!! DO NOT LIVE HERE!! Honestly the management was terrible. They switched owners on us right smack in the first week of the month so that if we paid rent to the previous owner we had to call our banks to try and figure it out and get the new owners the rent due!! Terrible!! I'd rather have lived in a box! I rented from summer '07 through winter '08. ...

MOLDY PIECE OF CRAP! I thought i was getting a good deal, but oh boy was I ever wrong. If you plan on living here make sure you get renter's insurance so that when the building has problems and ruins your things you can get them replaced. The management company is slower than tar in January at getting back to you and repairing things. Its cold as ice INSIDE in the winter. And did I mention that you could create a blue ribbon science fair project with all the mold that grows in that place? I rented from fall '07 through winter '08. ...

Welcome to Provo's free outdoor ice rink, where the management is as frosty as the parking lot in the winter! A dump. No better way to put it. A cold, nasty, loud, moldy dump. If you do choose to live here, make sure you get EVERYTHING in writing from management. And I mean EVERYTHING. Don't trust a word they say. Also, it may be best to take basic courses in small appliance repair as well as general "handyman" tasks. Or at least come with a good knowledge of how to threaten people effectively. I rented from winter '06 through fall '06. ...
