Lived here 2013-2015. I regret EVER moving here. While my time there had ups and downs, it was overall fine. But moving out was the main problem. They charge you so much in bogus fees that you'll be bankrupt by the time you move out. They want to upgrade the apartments for the next people who move in, and they want you to be the one to pay for it. It's happened to everyone I've seen move out while I lived there, then it happened to me as well. They tried to blame it on the contractor, saying the contractor overcharged them and somehow that means I have to pay it. However, I'd been in the home reno business for a decade, and knew that was a lie. Management could care less about you or your finances, and is only eager on squeezing the last few dimes out of you, even if those last few dimes are all you have left. DON'T MOVE HERE! I rented from spring 11 through summer 11. ...

We moved into Camden Fairfax Corner in December of 2012 and it was one of the worst decisions we have ever made. Tested and documented black mold was found in our apartment on day 2. They refused to take accountability at first and then tried to cover it up. The main concentration is in our HVAC unit. Our health has been affected and we have missed work. It has been a non stop fight to get maintenance to properly remove it. Still today there is mold and we dont use our AC to minimize the growth of it. Management has been largely unresponsive and we cant wait to get out of this nightmare. ...

My boyfriend and I sublet a studio unit from Camden from mid May 09 to the beginning of Aug 09. We were very excited to live there at first. The location was great and the parking garage and other amenities were added bonuses. However, we quickly came to find that there were many downfalls to life at Camden. First, before you agree to rent there, you should know that cable and what is called "valet trash" are mandatory fees added to your monthly rent. Cable was $40 per month and valet trash was $30 per month. Wondering about valet trash? This is where you pay for workers to come pick up trash directly from your door from a special (tiny) can every night (except for Fridays and Saturdays) even though trash compactor chutes are located in the garage on every level. These fees were NOT OPTIONAL. We also found that our neighbors were very noisy and up at all hours of the night. There is no way to get help from Camden management for such problems during the evenings other than to leave a message on the office phone. We complained several times and Camden refused to assist. Also, be aware that this is a pet-friendly facility and you WILL hear dogs barking and whining at all hours. Despite all of the aforementioned problems, we probably would've remembered our time at Camden fondly if it wasn't for this one final problem when we moved out. We had the surface of the carpet professionally cleaned before we vacated our unit at the suggestion of management. There were no surface stains on the carpet after the cleaning. Despite this, they ripped it out and are currently attempting to collect $600 from us for stains found on the UNDERSIDE of the wall-to-wall carpet. It is NOT common practice for landlords to inspect the underside of carpet because ripping it from the floor causes damage to it! What's worse is that they claim that the stains appeared to be from pet urine. We did not have pets! The guy before us did not have pets! The carpet was 3 years old and any previous tenant could have caused the damage. It seems to me that Camden was already intending to replace the carpet and thought they could scare some young, first-time renters into paying for it. We fought with management over this and eventually refused to pay. We didn't hear from them for months until finally, they sent a collections agency after us. We now have filed a complaint with the BBB and are in the process of filing with Fairfax County Consumer Affairs. To sum this up... SAVE YOURSELF THE HASSLE. In my opinion, Camden Fairfax Corner practices UNETHICAL business. Know your rights in Fairfax County! http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/consumer/tenant/ I rented from summer '09 through summer '09. ...

I have made the biggest mistake of my life staying at this apartment. I moved in when the apartment complex was firstly built so everything was so new and nice and I made that fooled me. This is the list of what I had to go through: 1. Noise problems because here is a party or more at least once a week and there are so many dogs here you feel like you're living in a frat house and a dog house. I love animals, don't get me wrong, but I have never heard this many dogs parking ever in my life no matter day or night. There are dog poops and pees everywhere. 2. The management was way ahead of themselves. When we moved in, they promised all the good stuff but the heater wasn't turned on (image that when you get into the tub and turn the water on), the dishwasher had no water and sprayed the soap all over our expensive dishes. The sprinkler on the bathroom ceiling was leaking and I couldn't even "go" because it was right on top of the toilet. 3. The management was horrible. They always gave me an attitude and never got any work done. They lost my paperwork, changed my information without my consent, and often told me that they didn't know how to do a lot of things. I read the previous reviews and yes they were true and I have gone through the same thing. If you have signed the lease, be careful when you leave. They didn't give me the appropriate paperwork when I moved out even though I had told them a few weeks in advance that I was gonna leave and asked whether there was anything I needed to do. Now they are asking me to possibly pay for the whole two room carpet replacement because of some really minor pink stain. Fine, I don't mind paying if they had told me ahead of time (like when I moved in) that they would be this crazy about stuff not on the last day I turned in the keys.
