Date posted: 10/13/2010 Years at this apartment: 2009 - 2010 Staff are RUDE! All the other complaints here about parking, bugs, crime, ect are true. Renter, beware! Wish I had checked the reviews before. Parking- horrible after 8pm. Both renters and their guests WILL get towed sometime during your stay here whether legally or not. No places for guests to park. Fees- They will hit you with tons of fees after a few months. Suddenly requiring mandatory renters insurance (which they conveniently provide themselves at high rates)... snooping around the apartment looking for violations, including looking through windows when they think no one is home! Rent went up around $200 in a year. Privacy- hope you aren't expecting any. Weekly to monthly apartment inspections under the guise of "checking the AC filter" and other nonsense claims. Crime- See picture attached. Police cars constantly here making arrests. A heads up about the problems would be nice but the office refuses to do so in order to keep their image better, at the expense of renters safety. Tons of shady guys hanging around parking lots, around bottom floor rent controlled apartments all night, and in stairways drinking. I bought a gun after moving here. Also lots of noise from other apartments, probably people fed up with living here who blast music all day long. Outside there are constant BBQ's and parties in non-designated areas. Laundry services are laughable, and if you pay the $80 monthly rental for washer/dryer (almost $1000 a year, save your money!) you get a unit so tiny it takes 24 hours to wash a basket of laundry for two people. We literally have to run it 7 days a week, and sleep at night listening to the noise of it running. Apartment is dated, old materials and paint, kitchen cabinets literally falling apart, and appliances look like they are from the 80's or worse. Heat and AC is controlled by the management, expect them to turn on about a month or two later than they should be. Attached pictures are my front door, supposedly beaten in by police when former tenant didn't open up. Yes, that is how I moved in, not even able to fully close the door. Now I know why they would not let me see the apartment before signing the lease... it took over a month to get that fixed, and the security hole doesn't work in the new door requiring you to open up wide whenever someone knocks. Also the carpets and painting where not completed by move in date, screws and dirt were left everywhere and the fridge was disgusting. I could go on and on...
