Ok....this place is HORRIBLE. Just like the previous reviewer I had the exact same problems....only I also had RATS!!! HUGE RATS!!! I literally heard rats fighting in the AC closet and walls every night for months...I had reported it to the office and was assured that there was not a rat problem, then my AC leaked all over my bedroom and when the maintenance people showed up to fix the problem they opened the door only to find a pile of rotting dead rats...which the water from the AC unit was dripping onto before seeping into the carpet in my bedroom. Absolutely the most disgusting thing ever! The rat problem is due to the TRASH on the property...there is ONE trash compactor for the entire complex and like the previous reviewer said...it is constantly backed up so there will be heaps of trash piled outside the compactor. As far as service goes, the people in the office are very friendly and I think they genuinely try to be helpful...HOWEVER...I had to transfer apartments (I needed a larger unit) several months ago and was told by a gentleman working in the office that the transfer would not extend my lease...on the day I was moving I went to sign my new lease for the new apartment and was told that transferring DID extend my lease and that if I wanted to move out in less than 12 months I'd have to pay extra money each month for a short term lease. Another thing, I have a dog and I ALWAYS clean up after her when she goes #2 and I seriously think i'm the only one who does, there is dog crap all over in the grass...to make matters worse they sent me a letter saying that I DO NOT clean up after my dog and that it was a violation of my lease, I was furious because, like i said, I always pick up after her...I called and complained to the manager who told me there was nothing they could do because one of my neighbors had called and "turned me in" it was UNBELIEVABLE. As far as the parking goes....it is TRULY the WORST parking situation I have ever encountered. Each apt has one reserved spot....which would be fine except that many apartments are 2 and 3 bedrooms which typically means there are 2 cars to each apartment, and there are VERY FEW visitors spots...whenever I have company it takes my friends like 10 minutes to find a spot then another 10 minutes to walk to my apartment from the visitors spot they find several streets away from mine. If you or your friends park in a reserved spot that doesn't belong to you BEWARE, the tow truck company camps out on the property and waits for people to call so they can tow cars immediately...then they charge $120+ for you to get your car back (plus $25 per day that they "store" your car). The location of Legacy at Mayland is great and very convenient, and the staff is nice and I think really wants to be helpful (the management company is super strict so I don't think the staff has much flexibility to help residents) but I would never recommend anybody move here...there are just too many serious problems... I rented from winter '06 through spring '08. ...

If you like trash overflowing next door to you, wet floors and damaged personal items, and no visitation...This is the place for you!!!! This apartment is in a fantastic location, but it comes with great sacrifice. There are 3 major issues with this complex. #1 The trash overflows every week and it takes about 2 days for it to clear out. This matter has been discussed with management and they placed a notice in each building and the problems still continues. #2 Because the apartments have been renovated the plumbing is terrible. I had 3 AC leaks throughout the summer that caused water damage to the carpet. It took the rental office approximately 3 weeks to get wet mildewed carpet and pad removed and replaced. I have also had the toilet from the unit above me leak and both of my toilets overflowed. #3 The parking is horrible. The rental office allows for 1 parking space per apartment. Throughout the day it is difficult to find visitor parking. They have placed signs in the complex stating your car will be towed if you do not park in a parking spot. People have started to park on the street outside of the apartment complex, at the rental office, and in the car wash area. It is impossible to have visitation and a social life. Please think about renting at this location. Remember that everything that glitters is not gold...In this case it is cheap costume jewelry!!! I rented from winter '07 through winter '08. ...
