When I began attending Seattle Central College, I had to quit working full time as a sales associate at Enterprise because while I was maintaining a 4.0 in the 3 classes I was taking at SCC I was also volunteering for Urban League, the Cham Refugee Center, East African Community Services, and the Somali Community Services of Seattle helping at risk youth stay in school and on the right path. It was during this time period that I had become homeless and broke so I stayed with my cousin Salma Omar at Thai Binh Apartments. The apartment was beautiful, it had only 1 bedroom but had enough space to pass off as a 2 bedroom apartment. From the kitchen to the bathroom everything was beautiful, clean, and very modern, like it wasn't run down or old like MLK apartments (which is another place I've also stayed). Compared to MLK apartments Thai Binh is a luxurious high end penthouse apartment. MLK apartments had bugs, rats, garbage on the staircases, the hallways reeked of cigarettes and old garbage, plus the individual apartments space were tiny and didn't feel safe. Where as Thai Binh is clean, stairs and elevator clean, hallways clean, I have never saw any bugs or anything there, and Thai Binh feels safe. I would recommend Thai Binh apartments to students who go to school in Seattle. ...
