This apartment is quaint but flawed. It was originally a 1920's hotel and it definitely has that feel. Most apartments (if not all) have glass french doors leading to the kitchen. When I moved in, though, I had to clean the entire apartment myself because it hadn't even been swept. I scrubbed the kitchen and the bathroom (including the floors). When I moved out, I did all of this again but I still was charged $99.00 for cleaning fees and $30 for painting fees. In other words: yes the location is perfect (right across the street from UW) but it isn't worth putting up with the female manager (the guy is nice), the price is way too high for what you get (no dishwasher, garbage disposal, laundry facilities are 1.25 per load per machine (and you get charged for the water bill as well since the bill is split evenly among the entire building), and rust comes out of the pipes), and you don't get even half of your deposit back no matter how conscientious of a tenant you are. I would never live here again and I do not recommend it for anyone else. PS: there are only maybe 20 parking spots for the entire building and they cost $90 (at least when I was there) per month. I was given the one next to the recycling bins which also had a large metal thing protruding from the floor which I had to park around (very annoying). It was better than having no spot but the price wasn't even reduced by 5 bucks. Good luck getting a spot though, the wait is probably a good year. I rented from summer '07 through spring '08. ...
