My roommate and I initially loved this apartment - it’s a cute old building and in an ok location. A little close to UW fraternities and old/outdated for the price, but we overlooked that. Then management changed to a woman named Jamie, and on move-out we had a horrible experience that leads us to recommend never living here or at any property managed by her. We were objectively great tenants - quiet, respectful of the property, and paid rent on time every month. And while Jamie seemed kind at first, we realized quickly when moving out that she is selfish and incredibly rude. She did everything she could to keep as much of our deposit as possible, including trying to charge us for removing furniture that was already there when we moved in, repairs to pipes and appliances that weren’t our fault months after the repairs occurred, as well as many other claims. After months of arguing tenant laws and wasted energy, we were able to (rightfully) get a small portion of these charges back. However, we know we will never see most of that money again (many hundreds of dollars). As a long time renter, I’ve never had a landlord this argumentative and insistent on charging for everything she could think of. I wouldn’t recommend living here unless management changes again. ...
