When I first moved into Shadowbrook, I thought the staff were pleasant, and the place was great. After my first month they replaced the entire staff with only people who were either downright rude, or had no clue what they were doing. At one point I went to discuss a matter of over payment and the property manager on site took care of the problem, by adding a fee equal to the overpayment... I still haven't gotten my money back. After moving out of a spotless apartment, with no damage to the carpets, they diceded to replace them, charging me for more carpet and installation fees then the entire square footage of the carpeted areas in the apartment. There is no documentation of damage, and no reason noted as to why this was done. The grounds were maintained only in high visibility areas. Outdoor lighting while there wasn't a bulb out when I moved in was about half dark when I moved in. They had maintenance people in my apartment when I wasn't notified of any such action. The maintenance staff after the change ha a "not my problem" attitude towards everything. Oh, and after moving in I found out that they charge seperately for Cold and Hot water both incoming and sewer, despite the fact that I also paid for the power to heat it. In addition to that they also bill for garbage prorated to all tenants, meaning you pay for you neighbors trash. In case you aren't aware, as I wasn't before, in Washington State, the landlord is required by law to cover one essential utility. So on top of being rude, unhelpful, and making me wish I had never moved in, they were illegally taking more money from me then they were legally allowed. I will be filing a formal complaint with the corporate offices in California in hopes that they actually consider their remaining tenants. As for those living there, get out while you still have enough of your money to do so. To everyone else, maybe someday they will get there act together, but the best advice I can give today is aoid this place like the plague! I rented from winter '09 through winter 10. ...
