When I first moved in, I was elated and originally wrote a five star review. I thought nothing would ever exceed the quality of life I'd found at the Artesa but I was wrong. There were always management problems with this property that got worse with the Pandemic. Tenants were promised on-site management or, at least, access to management. That was not the case. Things got so bad that, often, even when the Property manager was on site, she'd sit in the office with the lights off and the door closed to discourage interaction. Once the water in the building was off for most of the day, unbeknownst to her, even though she was in the office entire time. I, myself, often experienced plumbing issues that went unattended over weekends and holidays forcing me to use the public restrooms in the lobby outside my apartment until management returned to handle the problem. Even though, I would call the 24 hr service, I would be asked to wait for service. After living at the Artesa for almost 3 years and paying ridiculous rent hikes each year, I decided to move on. I was treated even worse once I made that decision by three on-site manager. She was rude and made me feel very uncomfortable until the day I left. After, Ieaving, I was charged half of my security deposit to paint an apartment that was never damaged it painted in the 3 years Iived in it. I think painting, where there was art on the walls, is normal wear and tear. I hired professional cleaners to clean when I moved out and did the walk through the day they cleaned. I asked a friend to inspect the cleaning so I would have an objective outsider's perspective. The Property manager told me I might have to pay to be replace the carpet where the furniture had sat for years in the bedroom. Luckily, for her, they didn't charge for that! But that shows how petty they were willing to be. I was disappointed but not really surprised. I loved it my apartment. The space was nice. The community was fun. The Artesa, itself, was overpriced and poorly managed! That ended up summarizing my experience! ...
