Do not rent from Tree City Properties. Catherine is a scammer and will steal your security deposit. Avoid! I rented from fall 2019 through spring 2020.

Do NOT rent from Tree City Properties!! Absolute nightmare. The landlord is sketchy and will try to charge you and scam your money. She does not respond to emails, will randomly show up, and is not easy to work with whatsoever. The apartment is ridiculously priced for the space, and there were so many issues with the space. She will take your entire security deposit and charge you for issues that were there from the start. AVOID TREE CITY PROPERTIES AT ALL COSTS. I rented from fall 2019 through summer 2020. ...

I just got my security deposit back from tree city properties, so I thought I'd review them. The apartment was pretty good. It was nice to be able to walk to campus, it really wasn't much farther than the dorm. The landlord was really helpful. When I had an issue with the dishwasher, she came and cleared it up real quick. She also helped me out with the sublet process, since I wasn't here for the summer. Overall, I had a good experience with Tree City Properties. I rented from fall 2018 through summer 2019. ...

***DO NOT RENT FROM TREE CITY PROPERTIES*** In my opinion, the landlord, Katherine, is a huge scammer that takes advantage of her tenants. If you look her up, she has ~75 court cases against her from prior tenants where she had stolen the security deposit under bogus claims that there were "damages to the property she needed to fix". In my opinion, completely rude and unprofessional landlord that did not acknowledge multiple complaints of rats and mice within the house as well as major heating issues. As I saw, all of the positive reviews written about her are from fake accounts created by her. If you want a horrible experience and want to get scammed in the end, by all means, have Katherine as your landlord. Even if Tree City Properties is a last ditch effort to live somewhere for the year, you'd be better off on the streets. All of the information about Katherine and her record of scamming tenants can be found online. Just mention her name in the office of student legal affairs and you'll hear horror stories from everyone there. I rented from winter 2018 through spring 2018. ...

To be honest, I was surprised to see so many negative comments on here...we didn't see the landlord very often but when we did have maintenance problems she was pretty prompt in helping us, and we did have several questions about parking which she was flexible on. I will say the rent was a little steep but in terms of location and interior quality we got what we paid for there. I'd say in general my experience was pretty good, so if I hadn't graduated, I would've been fine to stay in the same apartment the following year. I rented from fall 2017 through spring 2018. ...

The place was in a perfect spot for our group, right next to our friend's other apartments. At the end of the year, we got our security deposit a few weeks later. I rented from fall 2017 through summer 2018.

I had to move out of my previous apartment (it was awfu) and got a sublet with Tree City. The landlord was really friendly. She was looking at an issue with the freezer and I had to leave, so she said she'd take care of it while I was gone. When I got back, I also noticed she had replaced some burned out light bulbs while I was gone! After the sublet was over, she offered me a full lease for the following year. So much better than my last place. I rented from spring 2017 through summer 2018. ...

We all loved the apartment when we saw it and knew we wanted it because it was so close to campus and looked great for having parties. We wanted to move in a few days earlier, so the landlord made sure it was ready for us ahead of time. THANKS FOR A GREAT YEAR! I rented from fall 2017 through summer 2018. ...

Landlord was super polite and understanding, when it turned out I had been mailing my rent checks to the wrong address (turns out Google gives you a bogus address for Tree City). She helped me set up the bank to automatically pay the rent checks so I didn't have to worry about it anymore. I rented from spring 2017 through winter 2018. ...

The owner was nice and helpful. When she was fixing the garbage disposal, I told her I had been having problems with the furnace. She said she'd come back in a few hours to look at it, so I figured she was just leaving and I'd have to call again. But then she did come back the same day and fixed the heat so it was working again. I rented from winter 2017 through winter 2018. ...

We were pleasantly surprised after moving in to see the apartment had a brand new kitchen. It looked older when we looked at it, but since then the landlord had installed brand new cabinets and what looked like a new sink too. We didn't have any major problems throughout the year, so it was easy for us to renew for a second year. I rented from fall 2016 through summer 2018. ...

We really liked the place when we looked at it, since it looked much nicer than the other apartments we looked at (for the same price range). The place included parking, which was definitely necessary, because street parking is nearly impossible. I rented from fall 2017 through winter 2018. ...

I needed a place for the summer really quick, and was worried I wouldn't be able to find one. The landlord was very accommodating and showed me a few places she had that were nearby my internship. Whenever we had any issues, the owner was pretty responsive. One time our laundry machine broke down. When we called her, she showed up same day and had it up and running again. It was also nice to be close to our friends. I rented from fall 2017 through spring 2018. ...
